As to
curriculum, Dupré points
out that many Catholic schools have reduced the ideal
of a Catholic liberal education to «a few courses on
religion, ethics, and a smattering
of philosophy in an otherwise wholly pragmatically oriented
curriculum.»
If
out of fear or ignorance any real consideration
of religion is excluded from the school
curriculum, the educational program is thereby trivialized and the school fails in its central educative mission.
