remain in ketosis on a diet that contains up to 50 grams of net carbs.

My first test was to cut back
on my saturated fat intake while continuing to
remain in ketosis.
You also don't absolutely have to stay
in ketosis at all times
in order to have a fat - based metabolism and
remain metabolically healthy, so depending
on your individual situation, you might have slightly more «wiggle room with sweetening agents (and carbohydrates
in general) than you think you do.
So the decision to
remain in ketosis or not is dependent
on your weight loss and health goals.
For the record, unless there's a neurodegenerative, mood and / or memory condition
on board, I don't think we all need to be
on a ketogenic diet, nor do we all need to
remain in ketosis for extended periods of time; however, I do think we need to slip
in and out of
ketosis on a regular basis... just as our early ancestors would have done.
