authors the editor had asked for further

Update: Kobo has released the following statement to Good e-Reader: «Kobo has
reviewed its catalogue and

authors and publishers in question.
It begins, «We

Nor is it any secret that many of those complaining about Amazon
removing reviews from Clinton's book have been vocal in demanding Amazon
remove 1 - star
reviews that attack books by
authors they support.
I don't know a single
author who hasn't at least considered asking Amazon to

Double Blind Book
Reviews will use a double blind as the name implies,
author and reviewer will not know the other's identity to

Not only that, any member who personally attacks an
author in a comment, a shelf, or a
review should be immediately
removed from the website.
The other unfortunate part is Amazon
removes their
reviews with no recourse available to the
author.
As a result of the wordmark filing and the letters issued to
remove the word cocky from their titles, some
authors have already changed their titles in order to avoid losing their
reviews and their sales when they are compelled to
remove their books altogether for infringement.
Also, it's unfair for an
author to be forced to essentially harass a paying customer, and ask them to email Amazon, asking why their
review was
removed.
I've heard
authors claim that Amazon is more likely to
remove non-verified
reviews before they
remove verified.
One
author I know said he had all 3 of his
reviews removed (he only had 3) and he was a bit distraught over it until several of us let him know that we could still see those 3
reviews up from our side.
As I posted on Passive Guy's blog: I would just like to point out that Amazon published
authors like myself (Thomas and Mercer) are NOT immune from
reviews being
removed by Amazon.

reviews of your kindle books to be
removed from the
Author central account.
I also talk to fellow
authors about making sure they don't link Amazon to their facebook or twitter accounts, as the Amazon crawlers are making those connections in their database, and

With the advent of self - publishing, there are presently hundreds of thousands of
authors who feel that they have a bad
review that should be

author but I also self - pub and I have notice that for my latest SP release, I've had no marketing email sent out by Amazon, and
reviews have been
removed, when I did get email marketing support from Amazon and no
reviews removed at the beginning of the year.

When one
author posted a negative
review on Amazon's website, pointing out the publisher's fraudulent behavior, it, too, was
removed within a few days — undoubtedly upon request by the Rosser, the publisher.
Which means that
authors innocent of any wrongdoing get genuine, organic
reviews from bona fide reviewers
removed every day and the scammers and cheaters with fake
reviews keep getting away with it.
Amazon has caused a firestorm in it's controversial decision to
remove all book
reviews that are written by
authors.
If an
author got a bogus negative
review from someone who personally hated them, or some troll / flamer / jerk who targeted the
author on an e-list, it was once possible to email Amazon and get the
review manually
removed.
Author's complain too loud about fake

Since Amazon is unlikely to
remove any
review at an
author's request (even the ones that say «I didn't read this yet» or «my Kindle broke in the middle,» the best thing you can do is have a laugh and shrug it off!
Because of this, GoodReads doesn't allow
authors to
remove reviews.
