In Milwaukee, the WHS looked
at each ZIP code in the city, filling the spreadsheet with such information as the total population, number of households, percentage of
renter - occupied homes, racial makeup,
level of education, median age, unemployment rate, average
income and percentage of people living below the poverty line.
Once your
income reaches a comfortable
level, and you've achieved significant net worth, you'll likely want more coverage than most
renters insurance can provide — policies usually max out
at $ 300,000.
These
levels were unimaginable just a decade ago, when the share of Americans
renters paying half their
income on housing,
at 19 percent, was already a cause for serious concern.
