Once the
litter has been
soiled, it is disposed of and
replaced by a new
litter securely placed inside the box.
This allows easier removal of the
soiled litter, giving you the chance to
replace only that area of the
litter box that you removed the clump from.
You can even put the
litter on one end of the box and some hay on the other side of the box; be sure to
replace any hay that becomes
soiled.
Clean the cage completely once a week by
replacing dirty
litter and bedding and scrubbing the bottom of the cage and
soiled accessories with warm water and a gentle soap.
Gradually
replace the
soil with
litter, and then follow the above protocol of slowly moving the box to a more appropriate location.
