Patients with psoriatic arthritis who lose weight
report less inflammation and more activity [3]; same goes for osteoarthritis patients [4].

Tissue samples from arteries showed that plaques from people with two C versions had a lot
less COX - 2 protein than those from volunteers carrying two G versions, supporting the idea that
less COX - 2 translates to
less inflammation and lower rupture risk, the team
reports in the 12 May Journal of the American Medical Association.
Our finding of sinusitis, bronchial hyperreactivity, and bronchial responsiveness in firefighters with World Trade Center cough is important but not surprising.17 - 20 An unexpected finding was that 87 percent of such firefighters
reported symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease; such symptoms are generally
reported by
less than 25 percent of patients with chronic cough.1, 21,22 Despite the strong associations between gastroesophageal reflux disease and chronic cough17 - 20 and between gastroesophageal reflux disease and asthma,23 - 25 it remains unclear whether gastroesophageal reflux disease causes either condition.26 The causative mechanism may be repeated aspiration of minute amounts of refluxed material; vagally mediated esophageal, tracheobronchial, or laryngobronchial cough reflexes; or neurally mediated bronchial
inflammation.23, 24,26 Involvement of the posterior nasopharynx is common in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease, 27 whereas bronchial hyperreactivity may not be present.25, 26 For these reasons, we classified gastroesophageal reflux disease as an upper - airway symptom (Figure 2).
In a 2009 study from Case Western Reserve University, people who
reported sleeping more or
less than average had higher levels of
inflammation - related proteins in their blood than those who said they slept about 7.6 hours a night.
The most common cause of obstruction is a urethral plug, which consists of mineral crystals (e.g., struvite, calcium oxalate), white blood cells, red blood cells, protein (mucus), and epithelial cells.5 The underlying cause of urethral plugs is unknown; however, plugs have been linked to struvite crystalluria — suggesting that diet may play a role — and idiopathic cystitis.6 Other causes of urethral obstruction include urethral edema and spasm associated with lower urinary tract
inflammation and pain.7 Uroliths, neoplasms, and urethral strictures can also lead to urethral obstruction; however, they are
reported less frequently than other causes.5
