Even though President Obama lifted the global gag rule more than four years ago, we are still fighting
efforts from politicians who want to impose this draconian measure that harms women's health by further restricting the availability
of family planning and
other reproductive health services around the world.
This funding for family planning services, which was repeatedly vetoed by Governor Christie despite the passionate
efforts of legislative champions, supports preventive
reproductive health care services like cancer screenings, birth control, and STD testing and treatment at New Jersey's family planning providers, including Planned Parenthood health centers and
other local community providers.
