The main benefit of using dumbbells is that it
requires you to engage a greater number of muscles compared to the barbell and machine variant and actually activates the lower fibers of the chest press better than a barbell press — since your hands are free to
move across your body when you use dumbbells, the lower pecs get a better
workout.
When we
workout, we often don't realize how much balance is
required for every
move.
While it's not
required that you wear big ass - kicking boots and carry guns doing this
workout, you should definitely channel your inner badass and imagine you're going through fight - training — because that's what a lot of these
moves are based on.

We, also, brainstormed ways that we could
move our bodies — not out of punishment or
required workouts — but in ways that bring joy into our lives and allow us to have fun in our bodies.
I have a great collection of her
workouts dating back to the 80's and although I am not able to do any of the more challenging
workout that
require a lot of jumping around and
moving very quickly, I still do the beginner / intermediate
workouts that Kathy has put together recently and enjoy her classes and the variety she provides in her DVDs.
