This plagues the
rest of the film, making the audience wait in dread for the next headache - inducing
action scene rather than in anticipation — not good for a sci - fi
action film.
Luckily, Jackie is able to get his kicks in, with two exciting
scenes of nifty
action and stunt work, but you'll admire these
scenes for their spectacular ingenuity and death - defying nature, not really into them as part
of the
rest of the overall story.
Much
of the story is somber, and indeed a melancholy mood clouds the
action, though there is a single, laugh - out - loud hilarious
scene when the three recall Vietnamese bordellos surround the American base, and penis jokes abound, particularly about Sal's phallus that was so rock hard in the whorehouse that he could scarcely move the
rest of his body.
The worst cinematic crime that a director can do, is to bore the audience, now visually and technically The Lone Ranger was impressive with a couple
of cool
action scenes, however the
rest of the movie was boring and that is Gore Verbinski fault, the same thing happened with the 3rd Pirates film...
Fantastic special effects and plentiful debris aren't enough to make a good movie, and while the many
scenes of destruction are certainly eye popping, they are a far cry from making the ineptitude
of the
rest of this
action - drama remotely interesting.
The
rest of the bonus material is focused on the behind - the -
scenes experience, with «The Making
of Incredible» taking a broader approach to the production
of the movie, and «Anatomy
of a Hulk - Out» offering a more detailed look at the filming
of the three Hulk - driven
action sequences.
We do meet a group
of mutants in the film, but with the exception
of the pivotal role
of Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), the
rest of the mutants (good and bad) are mostly just there to fill out the
action scenes — or in the case
of Emma Frost (January Jones), fill out some ridiculous outfits (which the film does manage to justify... sort
of).
This early
scene actually does more to define his character than his
actions throughout the
rest of the film.
Tony also resorts to snarky jokes and drops humorous quips even in the middle
of intense
action scenes where the fate
of the nation
rests in his iron clad hands.
The new trailer puts any doubts to
rest because not only is the
action as frenetic as we would expect from Platinum Games, but rather than simply using space - age armor to explain away the amount
of damage these characters are capable
of soaking up, we can see in the trailer that the main character's powered armor provides him with additional movement options as well — one
scene shows him boosting from one set
of cover to another almost instantaneously, while another has him using his thrusters to gain enough vertical range to smash a foe.
«Visitors will cheer the triumphal christening
of a new ship in the large painting She's Off, but Benton carefully balances this exuberance with quiet
scenes of life below deck like Slumber Deep, where sailors
rest deep inside the USS Dorado submarine, which was later lost in
action.
