We spend a
lot of time with high school students, and there is one
thing we know for sure: they don't want the college application to take over their lives and
result in non-stop strife
in their families, but they just don't know how to avoid it, and, frequently, neither do their parents.

Because
of the way
things have evolved
in the past year or so, I've found myself gathering a
lot of information, and forming a
lot of opinions,
in two key areas: firstly, life purpose and career design (the original subjects
of my coaching practice and this blog) and latterly, real food, cooking and ancestral health (as a
result of my own dietary experimentations and my work with clients — and as one
of the original contributors to the Paleo Diet News website).
We live
in a fast paced world and we need to do a
lot of things in short span
of time to get better
results from our life.
Two
things come to mind: one, I read a
lot of customer comments on the Amazon site that are complaints about quality control
in the Kindles
resulting in different light output from individual LEDs.
You'll probably also find that a
lot of things you're doing are wasting your time or
resulting in so few sales that you would be better served doing something else.
But really, the best
thing I can do is make the book more visible
in search
results, because even though there are
lots of boxsets and anthologies out there, there aren't many authors who know how to make a book as visible as I do (which means, there isn't actually that much competition for keywords).
This has
resulted in a
lot of saving and scrimping, looking for deals when I can on various
things.
Particularly irritating are vigorous self - promoters and newsletter - writers that are facile writers — they say
lots of clever
things, but they are not subject to market discipline
in the same way that a portfolio manager is, who manages real money, and has real
results, good or bad.
Essentially, trading success, like most
things in life, is the end
result of doing a
lot of little
things right, consistently.
Like the imitation illustrations given above, when a
lot of people want to do the same
thing without bringing additional information to the process, shortages develop, and
in some cases prices rise as a
result.
I spent a
lot of time
in our local library pulling out microfilm & microfiche and looking up stocks, bonds, indexes, cost
of living / govt info, real estate, etc information from ~ 1900 until (then) recent times
in the wall street journal (this was pre internet — what took many weeks then now just takes a few minutes, but the Lotus 1 -2-3 spreadsheet program was very helpful
in doing the analysis) and then analyzed the
results and concluded that the «only» investment strategy that made any sense was 100 % stock (absolutely the best return over time); but... there was that pesky
thing called recessions, depressions, stock market corrections etc..
Put
in simple terms,
in our own lives, we KNOW we have a personality with feelings and thoughts, and that sometimes those feelings and thoughts have been a
result of the way we were brought up, the conflicts we have between choices, our frustrations, needs, and a whole
lot of other
things that sometimes require professional help (pastors, counselors, rabbis, psychiatrists, psychologists).
As a
result, far too many well - intended pet guardians are trying really hard, spending
lots of money
in an effort to do the right
thing for their pets, only to end up feeling discouraged and disillusioned when the
results are poor.
There are a
lot of things people do around dogs which should
result in bites, but don't.
If you exercise your dog well but don't provide mental stimulation, a possible
result is a wonderful but bored athlete that has the energy and physical fitness to destroy
lots of things or participate
in many undesirable behaviors!
My content is far from perfect, but I do the best I can — and I certainly write a
lot better now (and faster) than I did when I first started about 4 years ago, and that is purely a
result of trying

things in my articles, and just keeping on writing and publishing every week.

of how to approach it, as all different
things were being tried out - lines were redone even after other lines were implemented
in the game, as the team found better ways to say
things - Shimamura finally managed to beat the game the other day, but she wants to keep practicing her shield surfing - Shimamura explains that she really gave it her whole when voicing Princess Zelda, to give her emotions - she hopes that players will remember their memories

When I think back on the story now, there were a
lot of ridiculous
things in it, but we were able to do it how we wanted, had fun while we were doing it, and the
result was a good game.
