CAS's Adoption Ambassadors program was the subject

The Ottawa City Council
adopted a by - law that restricts the sale
of commercially bred cats and
dogs in pet stores, requiring new pet stores to offer only cats and
dogs from legitimate shelters, humane societies or rescues organizations; all stores will also have to include a 48 hours

of the pet that is being sold.

After visiting four rescue centers in Connecticut — all
of which would not allow us to see a single
dog, much less
adopt one, until we filled out lengthy paperwork and made an appointment to
return at a later date — we stopped by a local pet shop just to become acquainted with some
of the breeds (we were planning to
