There are paid
review mills out there who, using one or two credit / debit cards, can post hundreds of reviews under different names, thus pushing up an author's chances of having his or her book bought.
(I've personally
seen review mill sites, but they move around, so I don't have a link right now.)
It found one
obscure review mill, devoted 4 pages to an expose of an issue nobody cares about, and slagged A) Amazon, and B) indie authors.
It seems as if every day I get followed by another paid
review mill on Twitter.

review mills that have grown up around their review system (and all retail and service review sites).

those review mills and when she rejected them, her book was sprayed with one - star reviews.

the review mills.
