This
study augments the literature on this topic by
reviewing an array
of strategies that have been used in
different LMIC.
The
study explores
different perspectives on paternity leave, including a survey
of more than 1,000 fathers from nearly 300
different organizations (primarily well - educated professionals); a benchmarking
study of paternity leave policies at leading organizations; and a
review of global paternity leave policies and practices, as well as U.S. states that have enacted laws to provide paid parental leave.
A number
of research
reviews and syntheses have been published that examined the relationship between family - centered helpgiving practices and parent, family, and child outcomes.26, 22,27,5,28,29,30,31 The
studies in these
reviews and syntheses used
different measures
of family - centered capacity - building helpgiving, many
of which assessed either or both relational and participatory helpgiving practices.
In a famous
study, psychologist Barbara Rogoff and her colleagues
reviewed 50
different cultures to discover when ordinary people think kids are capable
of self - control and ready to meet responsibilities (Rogoff et al 1975).

I was quite sure that something
different was warranted after 3 years
of fairly intensive
study — mostly benchwork and writing papers, plus a couple

of Evolutionary Biology and Environmental

The effects
of parenthood on mental health are complex, but a new
study published in Health Sociology
Review reveals a
different angle to the relationship: how a person's mental health at 16 influences whether or not he or she becomes a parent, as well as whether or not parenthood has an effect on that mental health going forward.
The

reviewed journal Circulation, result from the first scientific analysis comparing the detailed medical history
of patients

Social support was negatively associated with distress by several

In a substudy,
review outcomes were also compared across
different types
of clinical research, based in large part on the designations and definitions derived from a number
of sources, including a report by Nathan, 14 the Institute
of Medicine, 20 the NIH Director's Panel on Clinical Research, 9 the Association
of American Medical Colleges and American Medical Association, 21 and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.22 All 3599 R01 applications involving human subjects that were submitted to NIH for the October 2002 council were categorized into 1
of the following: (1) patient - oriented
studies of mechanisms
of human disease (bench to bedside); (2) clinical trials and other clinical interventions; (3) patient - oriented research focusing on development
of new technologies; (4) epidemiological
studies; (5) behavioral

In part, these
different review outcomes were attributed to

Turmeric — and curcumin, the beneficial plant pigment it contains — has been the subject
of 5600
different peer -
reviewed, published medical
studies into its detoxifying effects.
A large
review of 21
different studies discovered that while fish oil doesn't cause weight loss it does change anthropometric measurements such as waist circumference and waist - to - hip ratio, which are both strongly correlated with heart disease (27).
