One of the farmers there has a
great rhubarb patch and always has some excellent rhubarb out for sale this time of year.
I was experimenting with a new recipe, inspired by my
thriving rhubarb patch and spurred on by a craving for a snacking muffin with a tender crumb.
Thankfully, when I dropped her off back home, I was treated to a bowl of homemade soup, followed by a good look around the garden and a post-prandial raid on
the rhubarb patch.
Seeing long, red stalks of rhubarb at the market (or in
a rhubarb patch if I'm lucky) gives me a mighty need for rhubarb orange compote!
My rhubarb patch is a bit frugal in its bounty so this dessert is perfect.
Do you have
a rhubarb patch?
In fact,
the rhubarb patch was transplanted from Grandma's garden in Antigonish County so you could say gardening is in my family genes.
