There was nothing special about lamb and
rice diets except those two ingredients were normally not present in pet foods.

I discovered by trial an error that a modified paleo type
diet works for me as i am intolerant of most grains
except wite
rice.
Our
diet is similar as it was before,
except with a higher fruit consumption, beans and tempeh instead of meat, more brown
rice, no dairy, and of course LOTS more vegetables.
You can't get that low eating a varied whole plant based
diet,
excepting those focusing on
rice or tropical tubers (cassava, taro, yam) or where fruit is a third or more of calorie intake.
Pea protein, however, is a standout exception because it's rich in all nine essential amino acids
except for methionine, which is easy to correct for by including small amounts of animal protein in your
diet or even other plant proteins like
rice protein.
I'm sure I won't be avoiding it any more and will eat these foods when I feel like it, but I generally like a more wholesome though nutrient / calorie dense
diet better (lotsa butter, toast, eggs, meat,
rice, roasted veggies)
except with the addition of more CHEESE, peanut butter (and jelly!)
I've spent the last month on a whole food plant based
diet which seems to help,
except for one thing: brown
rice, quinoa and cooked oats trigger horrendous reflux (raw oats are fine).
It can't hurt to try a dog allergy
diet, where all foods are eliminated
except very simple proteins and carbohydrates (e.g; provide chicken and
rice and eliminate all other ingredients that could cause food allergy in dogs).
