Cruising on the Kwai allows visits to the bridge, memorials, museums and sites honouring the prisoners of war, as well as venturing off - the - beaten - track and revealing a river quite unspoilt, with magnificent scenery and a
rich variety of
flora and birdlife, with visits to
local markets, temples, Khmer ruins, waterfalls and hot springs.
The fiord is
rich in
flora and fauna and outstanding Waterfalls; at times sighting of
local wildlife as dolphins (Doubtful Sound is home to one of the southernmost population of bottlenose dolphins), fur seals and penguins (Fiordland crested and blue).
