The first symptom of a similar problem appeared on
my right optic nerve when I was 16 years old.

A day later, I had an MRI scan of my brain, and two days after that I was informed that I had several lesions on an
optic nerve behind my
right eye which required IV steroid treatment.
If only your left pupil had constricted, your doctor would know that the left retina,
optic nerve, and brain stem were intact but that there was a problem somewhere between your midbrain and brain stem and
right eye.

Right now all therapy for glaucoma is directed at lowering eye pressure, but the idea that we could develop therapies and test them in people that really target the retinal ganglion cells and the axon fibers going into the
optic nerve — that, I think, is the most exciting new frontier for the premise of restoring vision and protecting vision in glaucoma.
The accident left her with head, neck and back injuries as well as a ruptured
optic nerve in her
right eye, memory and spatial problems, a speech impediment and chronic headaches.
As of
right now, my dog has no aura before the event and acts fine both during and after the episode, so I can only assume that it's something going on specifically in the occipital lobe of the brain or the
optic nerve.
