But conflating guidance for teachers with the
work that's put in front of children is a lazy tactic meant to obscure the truth: Common Core's «new» approach to
math isn't new, it's actually very understandable, and kids have already proven adept at grasping it — despite the higher level of
rigor the standards demand of students, teachers, and parents.
