As we've reported several times this year, the next major update (Redstone 2) might be focused on mobile
devices, so it's not surprising to see some new features already being
tested in the internal
rings.
Testing the
device in a thick - walled Victorian house and standard (that is, not very good) broadband threw up a few challenges, mostly in the form of latency between the doorbell being
rung and the arrival of a notification.
We've already
tested this with the preview builds of Android 8.1 and the results are impressive, to say the least, and very soon
devices in the production
ring should be able to experience this as well.
