Use a cloth moistened with clean water to
rinse out the soap.

We washed all of our diapers with Charlie's
Soap (http://www.charliesoap.com) which is all natural and works great — a little vinegar in the
rinse neutralizes the pee... We did use disposables (Tushies — all cotton, no gel) at night and when
out for long periods.
