I just wanted to add to be sure to
rinse the quinoa first, then soak it for 8 - 12 hours, then rinse it again and follow the remaining instructions.
Bring approximately 2 cups of water to a boil in a pot —
rinse your quinoa while you wait for the water to heat up.
I thought you were always supposed to
rinse quinoa so it isn't bitter — so that's not necessary with these toasted ones?
Place
rinsed quinoa in a medium pot with 3 times the amount of water and bring to a boil.
Prepare the quinoa while the vegetables are in the oven:
Place rinsed quinoa in a saucepan, add 2 cups water, salt and cinnamon and bring to a boil.
Combine 1 cup of
rinsed quinoa with 2 cups of water and a pinch of salt in a medium sized saucepan.
Soak overnight in water and 1 - 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, vinegar, whey or other acidic compound and
rinse quinoa VERY WELL in the morning.
I've learned the hard way what happens if you don't go to the trouble
of rinsing quinoa before cooking.
If you
do rinse your quinoa, reduce water amount to 1 1/2 cups since the quinoa will be slightly moistened from the rinsing process.
Make quinoa: In a medium sauce pan,
put rinsed quinoa and vegetable broth and bring to a boil.
