There are some painful, and even dire, concerns expressed about the potential that Greenland ice sheets could be «entirely lost» if emissions continue at a business - as - usual pace; about the rate of sea - level

over coming decades than they have been

Alarmed at the pace of change to our Earth caused by human - induced climate change, including accelerating melting and loss of ice from Greenland, the Himalayas and Antarctica, acidification of the world's oceans due to

Rather than engaging in endlessly nitpicking, unproductive arguments

The only problem with all the predictions about the level of the World Ocean
rising is that, the World Ocean is refusing to
rise up in support of the predictions, the other problem is that ice is frozen fresh water and frozen fresh water only covers about 5 % of this
planet above sea level and frozen water under the level of the World Ocean does not count as the World Ocean will fall a small amount if that ice melts, so if the ice there is enough to get the World Ocean to
rise and significant amount then it must be piled up very high, I cubic kilometer of water as ice, should it melt, would make 1000 square kilometers
rise by one meter, so when you use this simple math then somewhere on the
planet, above the level of the sea, then there must be
over 500,000 cubic kilometers of ice, piled up and just waiting to melt, strange that no one can find that amount of ice, all these morons who talk about the
rise of the World Ocean in tens of meters, this includes you Peter Garrett or Mr. 7 Meters, the ice does not exist to allow this amount of
rise in the World Ocean, it is just not there.
For the

And remember, the satellite data are one small part of a vast amount of data that overwhelmingly show our
planet is warming up: retreating glaciers, huge amounts of ice melting at both poles, the «death spiral» of arctic ice every year at the summer minimum
over time, earlier annual starts of warm weather and later starts of cold weather, warming oceans,
rising sea levels, ocean acidification, more extreme weather, changing weather patterns overall, earlier snow melts, and lower snow cover in the spring...

Warming
over 2 degrees celsius would have dramatic consequences: the
planet's ice sheets would be far more likely to melt, triggering more sea level
rise, than at 1.5 degrees, which is considered the safer limit, according to Hans Joachim Schellnhuber, a physicist who heads the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany.
The predicted

That brings us to the second problem: Yes, swapping out coal for natural gas does reduce carbon emissions initially, but in fact it ultimately doesn't help the
planet avoid a
rise of 2 degrees Celsius
over the coming decades, the limit scientists around the world say we must not exceed in order to prevent the worst impacts of global warming.

http://www.skepticalscience.com/Pacific-Decadal-Oscillation.htm Oh and Sou, I clearly don't think the sun from the 1950's -1960's is still heating up the
planet because the temperatures have been stagnant since 1998 - 2000 - a flat line - no
rising temperatures in
over a decade.
But while «global warming» itself sounds big and scary, the actual numbers put to the
planet's average temperature
rise sounds rather small - maybe 1 ˚C averaged out
over a century.
That the
planet's temperature was declining
over the last 2,000 years until 150 years ago when that trend did an about - face, and temperatures started
rising rapidly.

Sensitivity is a meaningless average, because global warming will not be spread
over the
planet in an even fashion, any more that it will
rise each year by a small increment.
Here's Fox News: «The
