Thanks to a relatively tall top gear and decent
suppression of wind and
road noise the Swift Sport is surprisingly composed on the motorway.
On -
road manners are good enough with a reasonable (but obviously tarmac - biased) ride on large alloys and decent NVH (
noise, vibration and harshness)
suppression at a cruise.
Also, the tires it's been fitted with come with
noise suppression technology in a bid to keep
road noise out of the cabin.
The Freelander has that mature air that makes Jaguars such great
road cars: good
noise suppression, a supple ride and easy gait, but complemented with fine body control.
Sound
suppression is top notch — wind and
road noise are duly dampened, leaving little but the muted growl of the V8 diesel to intrude upon the serenity (no bad thing, in our books!).
The stretched chassis also gives better ride quality than the five - seat Qashqai and
noise suppression is good, although over pock - marked
roads the +2 gets a little harsh.
