The power button and a physical volume rocker sit on the top right side of the tablet, while the top edge houses the various ports.

The slate's right side houses the power button and volume rocker, and a lone microSD slot sits on the left.

In terms of buttons and ports, there is a power button and a volume rocker on the right hand side, SIM card slot on the left, and USB Type - C and 5 mm audio jack on the bottom.

The power / lock button still resides on the upper - right and the volume rocker on the left side of the iPod 5th - generation.

Cut outs for the micro USB charging port, on / off buttons and the volume rocker means you still have easy access, if you can't make it through more than five minutes of Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon.

On the right side you'll find the volume rocker nestled right in the middle of the phone while the textured power button sits right above it.

Though the volume rocker and power buttons look attractive in gunmetal gray, Dell made the odd choice of placing them on the left side, the opposite of most small tablets and phones.

The Asus Transformer Prime has a microSD slot, a micro-HDMI port and a volume rocker along its left side; a power button on the far left of its top edge; and a 3.5 mm headphone jack along its right side.

The new Nexus 5x and Nexus 6p both feature a volume rocker on the right side, situated right in the middle of the side, and a power button right above the rocker.

Most Nexus devices before the Nexus 6 all featured the volume rocker on the left side and power button on the right, meaning you could take a screenshot with one hand by holding down the power and volume down buttons at the same time.

In terms of physical buttons, the on / off switch and volume rocker can be found on the edge of the device, along with a new microSD slot (that can expand storage up to 32 GB) just below and the 3.5 mm headphone jack positioned on the same side just below.

On the ZenPad's supersleek edges are a microSD card slot (left side), volume rocker and power button (right), USB Type - C port (bottom), and 3.5 mm headphone jack (top).

(ASUS puts its volume rocker right underneath the power button on the left side.)

You'll find a dedicated Bixby button below the volume rocker, with the lock - switch on the other side.

On the right side, the Vivo V7 has a volume rocker and a power button, while the left side has a three - card tray to hold a microSD card as well as two Nano - SIM cards.

The fingerprint reader lies on the back, behind the rear - facing camera, and the side holds the power button, volume rocker and what is assumed is a hardware button for summoning the AI.

In terms of button placement we have a power button on the top right edge which is in keeping with previous Meizu designs and the volume rocker on the upper left - side edge.

Volume rockers are placed at the left edge while the power button is located on the right side.

The left - hand side of the phone is completely blank, where the HTC Desire HD has its volume rocker on the left with the right - hand side being devoid of buttons.

Also on the left - hand side is a volume rocker and a button for locking the screen.

This keeps the volume rocker, or any other button for that matter, from being unnecessarily pressed since none are located on the left side.

The power button and volume rockers are also well placed on the right and left sides, respectively.

The volume rocker is positioned on the top left side of the MeMo Pad 7 with the power button below it.

Over on the right side resides the power button, power light, reset button, and volume rocker.

On the left side (when the tablet is held in landscape mode) sit a power button, up / down volume rocker, a screen rotation lock switch, and a microSD card reader.

The volume rocker has a small elevated dot on the + side of the button, making it possible to find the button without looking at it while also recognising which side of the volume button is up or down immediately.

Buttons and ports-wise you get a volume rocker on the upper right hand side, the device's power button below it, and a USC - C port alongside a headphone jack on the bottom.

The Vivo Tab has a power button in on the top left side, a volume rocker on the right and a microHDMI port hidden behind a tiny (and tight) door on the upper left side.

The power / lock button is located on the right side of the Galaxy S7 Edge, while the volume rocker buttons are placed on the left - hand side of this phone.

In addition to the front - facing buttons, you'll find the power button and volume / up down rocker on the tablet's right side.

On one side, you see the volume rocker close to Sony's signature rounded silver power button and a dedicated camera shutter button.

The volume rocker sits on the right - hand side, with a central mute / voice command button.

In stand mode, the volume rocker sits on the left - hand side, with the power button below it, right at the edge of the cylinder.

On the right side sits a dedicated two - step camera shutter button, which is situated nearly at the bottom of the phone, with the volume rocker just above it.

Buttons and ports are kept to a minimum, with a slightly textured power button and volume rocker on one side and a microSD slot along the bottom.

Similar to the iPhone and iPod touch, the Apple iPad has very simple buttons; aside from the home button at the bottom of the screen, the power button can be found on top, while the volume rocker is found at the right side with the screen orientation lock.
