read non-doyle stories there are
romances with holmes but anything directly from Doyle portrays Holmes as only showing
interest in women as part of mystery or problem to be solved except for Adler who he greatly admired.

Romance with Religious or Spiritual Elements category.
I don't normally
read romance but these look
interesting.
Through the project, Worldreader has found some
interesting (but somewhat predictable trends)-- young women
read a lot, and
Romance is the most popular genre.
Take some
romance, throw in a little bit of historical fiction and add a dash of time travel and science fiction and you have the basis for this
interesting storyThunder Mountain by Dean Wesley Smith is one of those
reads that defies genre classification.
Not sure if they know they're
reading romance or not, but it's
interesting nonetheless.

romance authors.

Writer Hat, Note: Excellent characters,
interesting twist, BUT this conflict over Save The Ranch / Sell The Ranch to Developers has been done a zillion times, and I don't think you've
read widely enough in
romance.

interest in
reading romance novels.
For example, Gothic
Romance is an up - and - coming sub-niche, which is
interesting for me since I write dark books that could skew into this area, and have actually
read some of the books classified there right now.

read in conjunction with Kris Rusch's post for this week.
Think of it this way... if you write
romance books and your characters / plot always have some sort of tie in to dogs (one is a vet, another runs a shelter for dogs, the love
interest is a groomer, etc. then it would be fair to say you aren't just targeting readers of
romance... you're targeting dog lovers who
read romance.
I don't think mystery readers
read as fast as
romance readers, but I want to be in a position to release as many as six in the series next year if there's
interest.
How I choose my next book: Checking Netgalley and Edelweiss for
interesting arcs, following the blog Smart Bitches, Trashy Books for
romance recommendations, getting recommendations from patrons at the library, checking what my friends are
reading on Goodreads,
reading Locus for science fiction and fantasy books,
reading next books from authors on my auto -
read list.
I have to turn down a lot of the requests I get — usually because the book doesn't sound
interesting, the author was rude, didn't
read my FAQs, or sent me something that is obviously not targeted (I
read romance books primarily but I've had people send me cookbooks and investment non-fiction too).
