Specifically, how the two teams have drafted over this last
rookie contract cycle or over the last four drafts (and five first - round picks because of the team
option for a fifth year) to best utilize youth
at a relatively inexpensive price point, the thing that builds and sustains hard cap success.
I imagine we will also be drafting a RB
at some point so If they don't pan out or Foreman and a
rookie looks better than expected, we basically have the
option to cut the vet or Miller based on the scenario and still have plenty of depth.
The top four seem set, but I'm worried about second - year regression for Johnson, the
rookie wall for Zeke, and workhorse tolerance for Miller on the RB side, and QB play for both Green and Hopkins (I'm not sold on Brock Osweiler
at all), so it feels like Gronk ought to be an
option in the mid-first, yet that feels way too soon when there's plenty of TE
options in the late single digit rounds.
Rookie contracts are too long
at four years, the fifth year
option just makes it absurd how long these guys can go underpaid.
There are few
options left for the Bills to sign to be,
at the very least, a mentor to the
rookie they are likely to draft.
