round draft pick, ANTHONY RENDON, out of
position (to second base) to accommodate Zimmerman, and in doing so blocked DANNY ESPINOSA.
We used first
rounders in 06, 08 on Williams and Stewart during his time here, and he's shown he has no problem
drafting positions of strength and I do nt know if you can call RB a strength.
Giving up high
round draft picks to get a QB at the detriment to other
positions would be just as big of a risk if not a much longer term risk.

drafting DeAndre Hopkins here to get another wide receiver, but it's tough to justify
drafting two wide receivers in the first

round; DT or MLB in the 2nd
round; DT or MLB (which ever was not
drafted in the 2nd
round) in the 3rd
round; DT in the 4th
round; and best available (keeping in mind special teams) in the 5th, 6th, and 7th
rounds.
The next year, also in the 5th
round, they added Richard Sherman, a WR - turned - corner from Stanford who stewed during the
draft as other players at his
position were
drafted ahead of him (he turned out fine).
King Felix's
draft position basically says to me that the experts just aren't willinig to spend early
round picks on a starting pitcher.
He changes no focus of needs in the
draft except maybe some
position we would
draft in the 7th
round.
I just think we have limited
draft capital this year and might not want to use our only day 1 pick on a
position where good value can be found in later
