with Rustoleum Cabinet Transformations — Part 1
This time we painted it with
Rustoleum Chalk paint in Charcoal and I really love the contrast.
There is some kind
of Rustoleum product that you can paint over laminate counters — it might work on cultured marble too — might want to check it out!
This is absolutely NOT an endorsement or solicitation of this product, but I have been pretty impressed with
Rustoleum products to date, and how they can «transform» certain aesthetic aspects of my rentals.
I didn't like it when it was done, so I covered it
in Rustoleum Metallic Oil - Rubbed Bronze.

by Rustoleum sells an Oil Rubbed Bronze spray paint that I have used on many pieces of my own furniture.
I tried the wax and I don't like the finish so I went to our local lowes and tried poly acrylic but it had a sheen, sanded the door down them
tried rustoleum polyurethane water based matte finish.
I'm not sure if I have
rustoleum brand, but all the spray poly's I've used have yellowed really badly.
After spray painting the hardware with
Rustoleum gold spray paint (affiliate link), I tackled the studs on the back.
To bring all of the different elements together, I spray painted the entire piece in
Rustoleum Gloss White.
If you can find
Rustoleum Clear Coat (it's an enamel like the paint you used), you can spray it over, but that can be pretty smelly itself, so instead I would use Brush - on Polycrylic (not the spray version) It is a water - base polyurethane that has no smell.
1: Spray paint deer head with
Rustoleum Hammered Silver spray paint (or whatever color you choose but I recommend a gloss to get the resin or metallic look).
I ended up using a thin layer of Minwax English Chestnut and then did a dry rub of
Rustoleum Kona.
For those who have brass components on their fireplace, you can use
Rustoleum High Heat Enamel Coating spray paint.
I stained the backs and seats of the rocking chairs with
Rustoleum Summer Oak stain.
Well, I can't be doing that with those small pieces and can't
get rustoleum here: (So how does the paint stay on yours?
And I've used probably every brand name chalk paint out there and
feel Rustoleum has a great product.
Then I took all my «leaves» out to the garage, spread them out, and sprayed them front and back with
Rustoleum American Accents Bright Metallic Gold spray paint.
The individual planks for the face of the headboard I used the following 3 stains: Provincial, Dark Walnut and I also used
Rustoleum Weathered Grey I DID NOT apply the Driftwood Stain Technique to any of these boards.

I used my leftover
Rustoleum Primer and Silver and Gold Metallic Valspar spray paint from my Metallic Magnet project (view it here).
I mixed together a bunch of paint samples that we had used to try to pick the gray and teal, and the only thing we had to purchase was some new drawer slides, an extra can of Minewax Polycrylic for the protective coat, and a can of
Rustoleum Satin Nickel Spray Paint for the hardware.
I get a lot of questions
about Rustoleum Cabinet Transformations and I love that I had the opportunity to test the product for myself.
I did an armoire with it, but when I went to work on the dresser, I just used
Rustoleum flat black and went over it with Annie Sloan wax that was left over....
I used
Rustoleum Antique Bronze Spray paint just like I did when I painted my bathroom shower fixtures (HERE).
I would use Polycrylic in a spray or the same
Rustoleum 2X in clear.
