safety of all pets involved, all current pets in the household MUST be up to date on all routine vaccinations and spayed or neutered BEFORE the newly adopted pet arrives.

One
of the major decisions you will have to take will
involve choosing a veterinary clinic for your
pet's health and
safety.
Initial assessments with the
pet (s) and owner (s) generally last 45 - 75 minutes and
involve collecting historical information, observing the
pet (s), establishing a diagnosis, basic management and
safety guidelines, and an outline
of what treatment for these behaviors is likely to include.
Because
of safety concerns for both people and
pets, Group Volunteering is limited to groups
of 10 people and will not
involve animal handling.
We also provide veterinary care, transportation
of pets to
safety, a 24 - hour crisis line, guidance on
pet safety planning, legal advocacy to help owners protect their
pets via the court system, financial assistance with
pet deposits in transitional housing, consultation in the prosecution
of cases
involving animal cruelty and domestic violence, and community outreach and professional agency cross-training on understanding the role
of pets in domestic violence.
