I can't believee what the first commentor
said about formula feeding!
I haven't gotten one negative word about it from a medical professional, but there is so much nasty crap
said about formula feeding online.

feeding and he has a milk protein allergy (gets hives) so having him on special
formula cost
about 100 $ every 2 days so pablum was best for him now 7 months on finger foods, solids, cereal, and
formula (of course) 2x a day and doing fine.
I have
formula fed and I have breastfed, there is something good to be
said about both.
Don't even get me started
about her views on breast
feeding but let's just
say she got angry at me for buying
formula and bottles to have on hand, and she does not even believe in breast pumping.
Even the American Academy of Pediatrics has never taken a real stand and made any kind of recommendation
about formula feeding, except to
say that breastfeeding is preferred over
formula and that you shouldn't use a low - iron infant
formula.
I'm not
saying to completely wean them, but think
about cutting down the amount you nurse them and think
about introducing
formula so you can enlist your husband in middle - of - the - night
feedings, or evening
feedings.
The «debate» started when I made a post
about infant
formula and it's effect on gut flora (the topic at hand) and everyone who has ever
formula fed had something to
say about my non controversial statement.
Unfortunately, I've experienced all kinds of shaming for
formula feeding from other moms, from subtle comments
about «breast is best» or that I need more «education» or «support,» to
saying I don't love my babies enough.
The same can not be
said about those of
formula fed babies.
While many mothers who
formula feed their babies often
say they've been shamed by breastfeeding mothers (which isn't a very kind move, people: knock it off) breastfeeding mothers are in the minority and many of us make up for our smaller numbers by being super-vocal and passionate
about our right to nurse and the benefits of breastfeeding.
First, you obviously want to avoid
saying anything disparaging
about formula, as this can be hurtful to parents who have chosen to or who have no choice but to
formula feed.
