S&S CEO Carolyn Reidy
said that while
sales of e-books rose by one percentage point in the quarter,
sales of digital audio had a huge quarter driven by
sales of both new and
backlist books.
Although initially e-books helped jump
backlist sales, Reidy
said, «not anymore,» noting that «the novelty has worn off.»
Malcolm Edwards, chairman of Hachette Australia and New Zealand,

backlist titles and 6 frontlist in the next year to upload) the math
says over 1 million dollars earned in a year.

backlist.»
Aside from libraries brokering
sales transactions, publishers should also keep in mind that libraries help patrons discover content, encouraging patrons to try new authors and keeping interest alive in
backlist titles, Tempelis
said.
