While there will always be candidates who are motivated
by salary goals above all else, the workforce is changing.
Other job seekers make the mistake of concentrating
on salary goals, says Tim Cole, owner at career - coaching firm The Compass Alliance.
While there's still no guarantee that the company's budget will be able to accomodate the first number you suggest, it's much easier to land at the high side of that range if the hiring manager is focused on the $ 120,000 value the company is getting instead of the $ 75,000
salary goal that the candidate is really after.
When you're looking for a new job, you likely have
a salary goal in mind.
So, know what industries you are targeting and why, what
your salary goals are, your timeframe and your basic game plan before trying to move forward.
Your salary goal must be realistic; it should fall within the expected range for that position in that industry and location.
