sales» on Amazon only count one hundredth as much as paid
sales in their ranking algorithm, which
means that your book will not appear on Also Bought
lists of popular paid science fiction novels, even if you are getting more downloads than they are.
What I
mean by that is if I make a
sale today to any of you lovely people, that actually won't count on the popularity
list for another four days.

sales on the popularity
list, which
meant once you came back to paid, your book would jump right up the popularity
list and all these customers would start getting recommended it and they'd start buying.

listings are for Amazon (which in places like Singapore is actually off - limits — downloads are barred there).

mean more visibility when searching for books on Amazon — and I'd like to think I'm confident enough in my work that once it starts cropping up in more result
lists, the cover, the blurb, and the reviews will be enough to make a
sale.
This
means a Smashwords author that earns 60 %
list on the
sale of their $ 5.99 ebook at iBooks or Barnes & Noble will also earn 60 %
list if a reader reads their book at Scribd or Oyster.
