One issue on the radar at the time of this writing is the
online sales tax bill, which would allow states to tax online purchases.
In an article in PC Magazine, eBay's Ted Cohen said, «This is another
Internet sales tax bill that fails to protect small business retailers using the Internet and will unbalance the playing field between giant retailers and small business competitors.»
Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente, Jr., today called upon State Senators Joseph A. Griffo and David Valesky to get action on
a sales tax bill that is not currently on a list of items for action by the state Senate.
When the guidelines were developed two years ago, they did not address consumption tax principles, since there was
no sales tax bill.
