American miles can book all the
exact same award space that Alaska opens up to its own members at the Saver level.
One thing to keep in mind is that Alaska Airlines representatives don't always see
the same award space that British Airways shows.
The same award space in high season requires 7,500 miles.
Usually
the same award space is available to every airline.
If you haven't booked with them before, remember that they may be partners with bank loyalty programs such as Membership Rewards, Ultimate Rewards, or ThankYou Rewards, and they often have access to
the same award space that you might book with U.S. carriers.
Most airlines make
the same award space available to all of their partners.
Because
the same award space is generally available to all partners, you should also consider the possible fees and surcharges that will apply before you redeem your miles.
Singapore has access to
the same award space that United offers at Saver prices, in other words, the lowest award prices.
In general
the same award space is made available to all partners — if another partner displays it on their website, then Alaska's agents should be able to pull it up.
The idea is that you are better off using Singapore miles than United miles to book the United flights because both can access
the same award space, but Singapore charges fewer miles, and its miles are easier to get.
