Sentences with phrase «same class of players»

I would put Biggio in the same class of players as Paul Molitor and Rod Carew, neither of whom were ever the best players in the game during their respective eras, but were both in the top tier of players for an exceptionally long time.

Not exact matches

He is not the next Thierry Henry (like I sadly heard some fans and even pundits brag about) and NEVER will be... As usual, most of our players should be understudy to proven world class players, but still we have the same «routine» and we should expect the same results or worse...
I see lot of coments about how we can sign Reus «cuz he's a world class player.Yes, he is a great player BUT did you see how mutch this season was he injuried? The period when Dortmund win some games and comme forward in the table was the period when Reus was available, rest of the season he was injuried. This is one thing, the other think is that Klopp say he will leave Dortmund in the end of the season and looking for a new chalange.I'm pretty sure that he will leave to a big team and will take Reus after him.Sterling is exactly the same type of player as Sanchez, just doesn't have the same experience, he's not fully developed.I think he can be a first XI player for us and I think will be great alongside Sanchez, replacing Cazorla when he will leave.Sterling is an English player, will be great to see him at nationat team too, and we need as mutch as rest of the big teams from EPL home grown players. The coments who say that we have Gnabry and Wellington make me laugh, really?Do you want trophies?Or do you want to see more young players and waiting year after year to confirm or just see how they doesn't play anything? We are a top team, and need performance in UCL too, not just participaiting.Sterling is a young CONFIRMED player who will definetly help us.Agree that he's not fully grown but he will be a great player.
Nothing you could ever do to Giroud would ever make him come good just nothing. Its not a formation set up that gets a player to dribble, score, be world class, be dependable, wow the crowd and the like. Its the players» own ability that makes him do that.Once you don't have it ya ain't gat it brother.Read my lips!!!!! Once ya don't have it ya ain't gat it.As simple as ABC.So I expect this to be another de ja vu case and waste of time if Giroud and Alexis are paired.I'm even shocked it's coming from Henry. He should rather be giving us more reasons why we need a new striker and why we would fail if we don't get the new striker.Forget Giroud's stats for a moment and judge him by how he plays when you are watching him.You would realize that given the same chances at Arsenal strikers who are not even world class can do better.I want a new striker even if not world class and to be honest its not necessarily a world class striker that wins you a league but just increases the chances of winning it.Peace!!!!

Want to hear from all those arse licking football idiots drooling away on this website over a bunch of friendly victories... So I'll say it again mert is a liability Ramsey and giroud are good bench players and we need a world class dm... Oh and a new manager... Endlessly playing out of position... Same shit year in year out with this guy it really is... Even if we win if this guy thinks he has a winning team he is even more dillusional than I though and I wanted him carried off to funny farm 5 years ago
He drools over some classy player who now hits the headlines, while a couple of years ago the same class player was «under his radar» according to this man we call our manager.
u know the problem with some fans make top four seem more important than a trophy.the reason arsenal wants top four is because of the money thats a fact everyone knows that.but as we move to city, man u they want ucl so that they can attract the big names thays why man u is fighting, same mancity notop four they know attracting world class players will be tough.do u think thats the same reason arsenal wants to finish top four??
nice to see you crawl out of your hole just in time to offer your 2 cents worth once again... unlike yourself I started following this team long before Wenger arrived on the scene and will continue to do so long after he's gone... in his earlier years I admired the cerebral elements he brought to the EPL, which at that point was more brutish than beautiful, and I respected the seemingly tireless efforts of Arsene, Dein & staff to uncover and develop talent without sacrificing the product on the field... likewise I appreciated that such a youthful manager wasn't afraid to bring strong personalities and / or world - class players into the fold without being fearful of how said players would potentially undermine and / or dilute his authority... unfortunately this all changed about 10 years ago and culminated in the removal of all our greatest players, both young and old, without any real replacements coming in... from Henry to RVP to Fabergas and Nasri, it was easy to see that this club was no longer interested in competing at the highest levels... instead of being honest, minus the ridiculous claims regarding the new stadium, Wenger chose to side with management and in doing so became the «front man» for this corporation pretending to be a world - class soccer club... without the «front man» this organization would have been exposed numerous years earlier, so his presence was imperative if the facade was to continue... it's for this reason and more that I despise what this once great man and Kroenke has done to my beloved club... the gutless, shameful and manipulative way they have treated the fans, like myself, is largely indefensible and this is why I felt it necessary to start offering my opinion in a public format... trust me, I resisted the temptation for many years but as long as the same shit continues to exist I will voice my opinions and if you don't like it maybe you should look for a different team to pretend to follow
I know Arsenal all too well and trust me we would've still lost.A lot of people think this Arsenal squad isn't good enough to win the league but I beg to differ.Give this same squad to Rafa Benitez or any world class manager even without any signing before the transfer window ends and watch us play like you've never seen before. The problem in this team has always been tactics, mentality and mismanagement. This is what has really been disturbing us for several seasons but alwas goes ignored.Mark my words that if Arsenal get everyone they're supposed to we're not winning the league if those three things aren't checked. We need signings but our problem is much bigger than signings.Give this same squad to Klopp or a too manager and you'd be shocked some players who were called average will be playing differently. You know why?Strong mentality, proper management and good tactics count.
Mertz should never have been our captain in the first place... who has ever heard of a team that makes 11th hour transfer buys (Arteta & Mertz) then seemingly places those same individuals into prominent leadership positions from the get - go... indicative of the problems that have permeated our clubhouse for the better part of 7 years under the Kroenke & Wenger... what is wrong with the players chosen and / or the management style of Wenger that doesn't develop and / or encourage strong leadership from within... Mertz was the fine collecting lackey from year one... this is what happens when you don't get world - class players because many times they want to have a voice on and off the pitch and this can't happen when you play for a fragile manager who has developed a coddling wage structure where everyone is rewarded for simply wearing the shirt and participating in the process... not enough balance between performance and pay, combined with the obvious favoritism shown to some players regardless of their glaring lack of production... remember that Ramsey has played in positions that make no sense considering his skill - set (out wide) and has forced other players off the field or into equally unfamiliar positions with little or no justification (let's remember when you read articles about how Ramsey's goals this upcoming season being the potential X-factor for our success that this is the same individual who didn't score a goal until the final week last season)... this of course is just one example of many... before I hear another word from Mertz I want this club to address the fact that no former player of any real consequence has any important role in the management structure of this club, yet several former Gunners have expressed serious interest in just such an endeavor (Henry, Viera, Adams, Bergkamp... just to name a few legends)... there is only one answer: an extremely insecure manager!!!
Chelsea is champion but the will buy De Griezman from Atletico de Madrid they have the best defence in the league, the best Midfield in the league with De Griezman, hazard and Costa they will be came invecibles that what Mourinho want to take from Wenger and do not forget that Wenger will never beat Mourinho, we just need 3 world class players just like Henry said, But Wenger have no ambitions to win the league, next year will be the same excuses why we fail again, Mourinho sold Mata even so he was voted the best Chelsea player the previous two years, and Wenger want to keep ineffective players like Walcott, Wiltshere, Diaby, Flamini, Ryo.Sanogo.Welbeck, sad but that is our fate with Wenger only problem for us the risk of loosing player like Alexis will be great if we do not win next year, we must to buy like Henry said, like Carzola is saying, we lost so many good players because they want to win and they are winning with others clubs.why we do not give ouself a chance of winning the EPL?
Those same promising youth players, instead of maturing into the top class stars we hoped for in our fold, mostly either wandered to greener pastures or were put out to pasture.
The board and Stan Kroenke are going to be around for a long time still, nothing we can do about that, but I think Arsenal simply need a change for better or worse because let's be real, unless Wenger brings in another three world class players ASAP and gets rid of the deadwood we will experience exactly the same thing next season.
OF course you can't blame him for everything, but everything football related yes he runs that side of the club without interference from anyone, here is a man who blames everything and everyone other than ever looking at himself when the team loses a game, for how many years has the club been crying out for a world - class dm, he refused to buy player's to compliment ozil and Sanchez, yes 100 percent, a better manager would get more from the same playersOF course you can't blame him for everything, but everything football related yes he runs that side of the club without interference from anyone, here is a man who blames everything and everyone other than ever looking at himself when the team loses a game, for how many years has the club been crying out for a world - class dm, he refused to buy player's to compliment ozil and Sanchez, yes 100 percent, a better manager would get more from the same playersof the club without interference from anyone, here is a man who blames everything and everyone other than ever looking at himself when the team loses a game, for how many years has the club been crying out for a world - class dm, he refused to buy player's to compliment ozil and Sanchez, yes 100 percent, a better manager would get more from the same players..
I join you on that almostawinner... but the same can be said of that famous english core that we extended / signed a couple of years back... Ramsey is a great player, can be world class but for that has to stop being so wasteful at times (bad / heavy first touch, killing counter attacks with the wrong choices, not shooting well anymore the way it looks, giving the ball away)... your not on Gerrard level at his best Gibbs is a good player but seems happy with his bit part role, doesn't look like he's crazy about pushing & challenging Montreal for a XI spot Ox, I still believe in his talent but just no end product for an offensive player with his ability; he could be our version of PFA Hazard / Costa... is it a lack of confidence?
He plays same players over and over again and he doesn't change tactics to suit the opposition resulting in good players getting injured and other top class players leaving the squad in search of playing opportunities.A top defender like Vermaleen shouldn't have left if AW was doing rotation.Right now the injury list is increasing and Wenger doesn't change. If AW remains like that Podolski, Campbell, Rosicky, Nacho must leave in order to serve their career.
I must say since tme of rvp, arsenal havent had a world class striker.when likes of rvp, arshavin played; u expected the team to always hav a chance whoever.i guess u cant say the same of giroud.attitude-wise and overall Giroud is a good player, but not suited for arsenal style....
I'm so sick of people telling those of us who are disgruntled fans to relax and give this club time to correct itself... for anyone who believes that taking a wait - and - see approach is appropriate at this juncture they should take a good long look at themselves in the mirror because they are a big part of the problem... no other «big» club's fans would stand for this shit for nearly as long as we have... think about it, we've witnessed a changing of the guard at every major club in England, Spain, France and Germany in the last several years because those «big» clubs failed to live up to expectations (Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern, PSG, Chelsea, ManU, ManCity etc...)... for some reason, many fans have become as fragile as our current manager, believing that there couldn't possibly be a suitable replacement, even though everyone of these clubs have found multiple replacements and still achieved far more than our club... this mindset has been created by an organization that has been milking it's fans, telling countless lies (no world class players available) and lowering expectations every since they rolled out the biggest lie of all: that we couldn't spend because of the new stadium but once it was paid off we could compete with any team in the world... this organization is rotting from the inside out and if we don't demand that those in charge put soccer first this despicable behaviour won't end with Wenger's ridiculous 2 year contract... I think the real fear isn't that a suitable replacement doesn't exist, but that this organization is so money hungry and poorly mismanaged that we will sink even lower by choosing our next coach the same way they choose our players, on the cheap... even so, we need to see what mustache will do if left to his own devices so he will have to show his true colours... only then can we purge this club and start anew
lets all thank arsene for finally doing the right thing only time will tell but have we finally signed the DM we need STRONG MINDED NO HOLD BAR MIDFIELDER WE HAVE ALL CRAVED, but lets take it back we all know it will take 2 or 3 more like minded players to make us great again, he has tricked us all buy buying one superstar in the last 3 windows ALEXIS, OZIL and CHEC great players but can't do it all on their own, spending huge amount of money and saying we can buy the best players, on the surface this looks great we are buying top top players big prices but instead of spending his usual 50 mill on 2, 3, 4, 0r 5 players he has pulled the wool over are eyes with 1 superstar thinking the fans are that dumb enough to believe it, infact he has never spent his budget only balanced on sales too purchases, i love arsenal but this summer i hope for more he needs to do that consistently through out the team spend the same amount on the team stop balancing the american owners, grow a pair say yes we will buy a top defender and a world class striker, stan we love arsenal please be one of us do whats needed then you will fell proud as we are and we will adore you for it.
@Jimbeam that story was not credible.Ut was made up.Also your questions have are not even in line with what am saying. You are asling this and that and bla bla bla.It was needless.Everybody who is here wants Arsenal to achieve success regardless of whether we have average players or not because that's what we as fans do.The thing I was trying to say is that the same people who here who are nagging and crying are the same people who claimed to have lowered their expectations for the transfer window. So why all this talk.Listen I'll even want Arsenal to even have a world class eleven and when we don't win the cup with that world class eleven i wonder who'll be blamed after that. The critical thinkers here will tell you the main thing worrying this club is not even about the players. It's all summed up in one word known as philosophy.
Despite the acquisition of three world class players in recent years, and Wenger keeping hold of his stars, we have gained less points than the previous three seasons, and have had the same amount of defeats (7).
You cant expect a guy like sanchez to stay in the same dressing room as coquelin Two players with a whole load different level of class and ambition
mates its time we say hard truths and stand by them.we want arsenal to win the title not arsen so spending is not an issue.this season we hve seen how our squad is of average quality only three or four world class players.is wenger the man to take us the next level.someone who drops joel and picks Walcott who is currently playing like an amateur.our midfield is shocking we keep passing the ball backwards till we concede is when we st art shifting gears.we need more urgency from both the players and manager.play the same way everyweek and expect a win.its time arsenal moves on we need new man at the helm to lead the club.
# 35m for Mustafi is a world class price for a defender, Alexis was bought for the same amount of money, we are simply over paying for Mustafi because Wenger dithers and dilly dallys early on in the transfer window now we are desperate paying Valencia money that their player is not worth!
We did signed one World Class player while guess what, none of the above are anywhere at the same level.
Wenger's definition of quality is not often the same as ours Wenger probably thinks Ramsey, Giroud, Walcott are Top class players akin to, Coutinho, Aguero and Hazard
I support you on the fact that Araenal need a player who can make an immediate impact. However, it's also naive to try to create an impression that he's going to fail due to similar playing style and stature of the players you mentioned above.Even Eduardo would have world class and possibly better than Van Persie if not for his leg breaking. It's likely Mbappe is going to succeed and if he gets signed up by another club we'll be chasing him on the future. The same gamble being taken on Mbappe is the same that was taken on Henry. If Henry had failed I don't think Arsenal would've been this great club today. This is a very similar situation to Mbappe.Weneed players now to have an immediate impact but we should not be inclined to think Mbappe would fail if Arsenal should sign him.
I'm with you there mate. He's just an average player beign given many chances.A lot of average strikers can even do better because of the chances Arsenal creates. There are some strikers who are not top quality but have very good finishing that if given the same seasons and chances Giroud has had they can do better.I hate it when they make it seem like only world class strikers are better than him. He's really only improved from season 14/15 honestly speaking. He used to be so bad and waste a lot of chances. It's just that become can not see the fact that he's not as good as they think. We will surely be vindicated by his performance for another club.
Chelsea alternate between a 4 33 and a 4 2 31, both equally as effective, Ramires can play in the pivot, as a RM and on the wing and has done so for the last 2 season's giving Chelsea something different if Fabregas does not play or should they desire a direct approach, Azpilicueta who is probably the league's best LB is not even a LB, Ivanovic is not a RB but a CB by trade, Fabregas has and does play no. 10 on occasions for Chelsea, should any of these players get injured they have a world class replacement waiting, the same can not be said of Arsenal, we play one way and our subs are usually like for like or like for out of position.
Going on past evidence and noting that the «proposed war chest» is 75 million (ironically the same as it was last summer) I would say that we'll likely get a striker but it wont be a top class one it'll be a lasser known player who Wenger will want to be lauded for if he turns into a 25 goal a season striker a la Henry Do nt expect any earth shattering buys cos the majority of that huge cash boost from BT sports will make its way to the boards private accounts.
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style of play has become a shadow of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs out wide, we've seen pace from the likes of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play of Monreal, but none of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would say that, of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one of the most committed skill players we've seen on this squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack of mobility is an albatross around the necks of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
Please never put in the same sentence or even compare Wiltshere with Isco just look the stats of Isco and you will see that's a world class player and he never smoke or drink or even insult taxi drivers.Wiltshere in another hand is just another Overrated English player, 5 goals and 4 assist for 95 games that tells you all, Isco have 14 goals and 16 assist this season.
total failure... Can you believe Wenger spent 32 millions on 2 average players (Chambers and Welbeck) and is penny pinching when is sbout real class players? What is in his mind?Pay a fortune in salary for mediocre players live Walcott, Ramsey and Wilshere and have hesitations about increasing Sanchez wages... keeping on books failures like Sanogo... The truth is - I say it for years and years - until the «British core» disapears, we are not going to be succesful. The low quality of British players is dragging the team back.Last time Arsenal was a powerhouse NONE of the first 11 was British.Wanna see how the British quality looks like in a football team - look no further than national sides of England, Scotland, N Ireland, Wales, even Ireland (not British but same style)- all mediocre teams «able» to be defeated by any team coming to mind. And you are asking about Chambers? He is in the same mold like Wilshere,Walcott,Ox,Ramsey,Gibs,Jenkinson - mediocre overpriced and overpaid players. The world is full with hungry, ambitious and skilled players living in poverty and dreaming of moving to the top at any cost or sacrifice (did you see the poor house - if you can call that house, looking more like an old tent - in which Alexis Sanchez grew up?Or Suarez?)
That he'd bench one of the team's most important players for half of their biggest game for missing a class, I'd venture to guess there aren't many coaches out there who would do the same.
In term of CB, people are forgetting that the youth academy have good players in Hayden and Ayaje.Southampton use to do well with their academy because the supporters will allow and accept the youths to be given a chance, now supporters from a big team like Arsenal wants proven expensive world class players in order to win quickly in detriment to give a chance to the youths club.Wenger show preference to some in detriment of others too playing always the same player and giving few chance to others.Bendtner last year was treated badly, look out this year for Campbell and why not give a chance to Ayaje and Hayden who are olders than Chambers in the cb position, don t tell me it s about potential if they are not given a chance?
Wenger put ozil on the wing for his development one thing i do nt get is how the fans do nt see that Wenger done the same process with Wilshere, I remember when Monreal was caught out at the back post from a set piece and ozil did nt cover he just jogged abit n let monreal get beat, that would be video evidence for Ozil to learn and work on his duty to defend instead of giving him Candy like a baby n letting him be lazy in the middle not tracking back for the team its a learning process im 100 % Wenger knows ozils best position is in the centre he followed him since Shalke its obvious but Wenger develops players into world class after seeing Ozil in the world cup and coming back after the world cup i coud see he defended alot more helping out monreal on the flanks and putting in alot more effort only then once hes showed his duty in defending will he be given his free role in the middle.
This is the same club that refused to sanction the transfer of any of their players in the other direction, so do they really think that a direct rival should just roll over for them because they have more money, if a lot less history and class?
i back akpom gnabry jenkinson bellerin chambers and hayden to be great in two years time.i expect a world class player in ramsey the ox gabriel sczcesny coquelin and wilshere in that same period.I do nt know what to make of toral though i have hopes in him.
At the head of this class is Vick, the most exciting player in the nation (page 92), but he is joined by juniors Quincy Carter of Georgia, Woody Dantzler of Clemson, Antwaan Randle El of Indiana and senior Marques Tuiasosopo of Washington, each of whom is a threat to become the first Division I - A quarterback to throw for 2,000 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in the same season.
OMG, our mates are strengthening and we here debating how to keep obviously average players like walcot, elneny, wilshere et all, Antonio conte had the balls to tel a world class striker like diego costa to f *** off and we here debating mediocrity, we seem to have short memory as arsenal fanz, thumb me down d way u like, y ’ all gon protest nd moan and groan like last season coz as at now i see no phantom changes, still d same old system, same old players nd d deluded one probably closed for the transfer market after signing just one out of the numerous we actually need to compete.
«we need two world class players in every position» thats the quote from Usmanov which i really agree with him same thing spanish big two has been doing for a long run and thats why European Championship has been changing hands because of quality they have in their squad same thing can not be said when you come to Arsenal approach we are way below in England i can Man city doing same thing pep brought with him
Ainsley Maitland Niles in his two or so matches a CM has shown me that he can protect the back four and attack very well. Why is Wenger destroying the player at LB?I remember also telling everyone here earlier in the season that we should change our formation to four back and that Monreal and Kolasinac shouldn't be in the same team as one has to be rested and deputise for the other.I don't care how consistent Monreal is and to me he has no CB qualities. He at times looks almost world class at LB but to me he has no qualities of a CB.Why is Xhaka also starting?Coquelin is twice the player he is for the role Xhaka should be playing.
Has anyone noticed that mourihno doesn't rotate his squad in spite of having world class player on chelsea bench?????? His starting 11 is exactly same in last 4 matches in 12 days (apart from striker costa who was injured).
Nothing like one underachiever blowing smoke up the ass of another... we know that Ozil has some incredible technical gifts, but to be considered the best you have to bring more than just assists to the table... for me, a top player has to possess a more well - rounded game, which doesn't mean they need to be a beast on both ends of the pitch, but they must have the ability to take their game to another level when it matters most... although he amassed some record - like stats early on, it set the bar too high, so when people expected him to duplicate those numbers each year the pressure seemed to get the best of our soft - spoken star... obviously that's not an excuse for what has happened in the meantime, but it's important to make note of a few things: (1) his best year was a transition year for many of the traditionally dominant teams in the EPL, so that clearly made the numbers appear better than they actually were and (2) Wenger's system, or lack thereof, didn't do him any favours; by playing him out of position and by not acquiring world - class striker and / or right - side forward that would best fit an Ozil - centered offensive scheme certainly hurt his chances to repeat his earlier peformances, (3) the loss of Cazorla, who took a lot of pressure off Ozil in the midfield and was highly efficient when it came to getting him the ball in space, negatively impacted his effectiveness and (4) he likewise missed a good chunk of games and frankly never looked himself when he eventually returned to the field... overall the Ozil experiment has had mixed reviews and rightfully so, but I do have some empathy for the man because he has always carried himself the same way, whether for Real or the German National team, yet he has only suffered any lengthy down periods with Arsenal... to me that goes directly to this club's inability to surround him with the necessary players to succeed, especially for someone who is a pass first type of player; as such, this simply highlights our club's ineffective and antiquated transfer policies... frankly I'm disappointed in both Ozil and our management team for not stepping up when it counted because they had a chance to do something special, but they didn't have it in them... there is no one that better exemplifies our recent history than Ozil, brief moments of greatness undercut by long periods of disappointing play, only made worse by his mopey posturing like a younger slightly less awkward Wenger... what a terribly waste
