Ass (2010) is more your Unbreakable or Watchmen style comic book adaptation as opposed to Spiderman or even Chris Nolan's Batman.
With Joe Johnston delivering pyrotechnical action - adventure
in a period guise, à la The Rocketeer (which was similarly fixated on its female lead's buxom chest), this costumed - crusader saga is a capable, if somewhat unremarkable, affair beset by the
same origin - story shortcomings that plagued another U.S. - virtue - via - army - weaponry fable, Iron Man — namely, a bifurcated structure
in which the introductory first half exceeds,
in compelling drama and
kick -
ass thrills, the latter fight - the - baddies combat.
Though it continues with more of the
same characters and R - rated envelope pushing, this sequel can't come close to capturing
Kick -
Ass's tongue -
in - cheek chutzpah and adrenaline - charged action.
The
same minimal button system exists as it did
in Asylum; one button to attack, one to counter, one to stun etc. but you've got more ways to
kick evildoer or criminal - scum
ass.
This game is pretty
kick -
ass overall, and while we might differ on how it stacks up to Mario Kart, we can both agree that this game is worth mentioning
in the
same breath as MKart.
