A quick tip for your paint smoothness — a roller brush might work but to get that really smooth finish I know most furniture refinishers use a very fine grit
sandpaper between coats.
To seal the top of the table I applied three coats of polycrylic (also by Minwax) and lightly sanded with 400 grit
sandpaper between each coat.
