Mainly, I use this tomato
sauce as a pizza sauce (with easy whole wheat pizza crust) and as a pasta sauce for dishes such as spaghetti and goulash.

Since you probably already know how to use pesto (
as a pasta
sauce,
pizza sauce, crostini spread, etc.), I thought it'd be more useful to share some of my favorite pesto variations.
Brush garlic oil over dough, bake
as per recipe instructions, brush another layer of oil over top of the baked dough and serve with extra oil or warm marinara /
pizza sauce for dipping.
The best chicken recipes taste phenomenal tossed in lemon and honey, barbecue
sauce, grilled with olive oil, tossed over salads, in pasta or
as a
pizza topping!
You can roast it, make a
pizza crust, make a
sauce, make bites of all varieties and you can make cauliflower rice, which is a million more times filling than the standard rice
as it packs more fiber, and more nutrients to boot!
As I had some ready made
pizza sauce, I didn't bother to make it at home.
To use this
as a
pizza dough, do we prebake and then add
sauce etc. and bake again or can toppings be added to raw dough and all baked together?
It was this simple: my go - to
pizza dough, baked it in a cast - iron skillet (12 inches so it fits), mozzarella layered on the bottom (
as is traditional), then the toppings (roasted vegetables, spinach, Italian turkey sausage, and black olives) and the
sauce, finished with freshly grated Parmesan.
I think these would also work
as dessert
pizzas, by just swapping out
sauce, cheese and
pizza toppings, and instead baking she shells, then putting melted chocolate and fresh fruit inside, freezing until semi-firm, and topping with coconut whipped cream.
Although the red pepper puree won't have
as much pizzazz without its partner, the pistachio pesto, it is still good served alone
as a salad dressing, a pasta or
pizza sauce, or even
as a dip, thickened by pureeing in more hemp seeds.
It can also be used
as a dressing in salads,
as a
sauce in pasta dishes and
pizza, and even
as a dip.
I love to use nut butters
as the «
sauce» when I make my daughter waffle / dessert
pizzas.
Over the years I have come up with tomato - free Cherry BBQ
Sauce, Huckleberry BBQ
Sauce, and Strawberry Balsamic
Pizza Sauce (all of these recipes are in my cookbook), and finally I can say I have a Ketchup that is just
as good, and I think even better than the real thing!
I've never made a
pizza without a red
sauce as the base — and you know what?
Then, let it cook on the second side on about medium heat for just another minute
as you start spreading the
pizza sauce.
