The summer's unusual heat and abundance of hungry insects had promised an iffy tomato season anyway, but, needless to say, by the end of September, it
was clear I would miss out
on my yearly homegrown tomato activities: no weekends of steamy kitchen windows with boiling pots of canned
sauce featuring my prized Cherokee Purples; no homemade, slow - simmered San Marzano tomato paste; no sheet pans lining the counters with roasted black cherry tomatoes (the
best tomato flavor
on this earth, ever).
This
is a great dish to make in quantity — even
better, make the
sauce a day or two ahead of time, then heat it in a crockpot for a fuss - free meal
on a busy day.
This Halloween wine
was good to sip
on its own, but even
better when we paired with our Grilled Porterhouse Steak with Mushroom

Vegan mac and cheese hot, cold, with ketchup, with bbq

To make the tartar
sauce, finely mince 1 clove of garlic and add it to a mortar, then add 1 tablespoon of capers and using a pestle mash down

on a snowy January day than homemade
sauce from vine ripened tomatoes!
An extremely versatile
sauce, Red Label
is well trained to
be food's
best friend and can
be used
on virtually anything from pasta and cheeseburgers to steak,
on Mexican, Chinese, Italian, Thai, and Indian food.
Blackened cauliflower steak
is good on its own, but when paired with polenta and the red pepper
sauce... It takes the meal to a totally different level.
4 ounces pasta
sauce (1/2 cup) more or less depending
on your taste of course homemade
is best, but the jarred kind will work
He recently collaborated with Campbell's Soup Company
on a new line of pasta
sauce (I sampled them and they
're very
good) and I planned to ask him a few questions about it.

sauce please??? I make a holiday cake using a cake mix and pudding; it
's far too
good to not put

was surprised that it turned out
better than I expected -
on its own, the satay doesn't really stands out much (perhaps I

are on the sticky side but the
sauce is so finger licking
good.
My fave way to eat them
is on an Italian roll, with Daiya and
sauce... marinara... or Isa's Sanctuary Dressing... or most recently, a vegan creamy garlic dressing... so so
good!
Even though I
was enjoying my Pesto Pasta a lot... some part of me still wished to have ordered «Puttanesca»:)
On the other hand, Vishal
is not so fan of olives and he later told me he loved the
sauce but pesto could have
been better!

am addicted to salted caramel
sauce at the
best of times, put it
on a health - ish doughnut and it disappears rather quickly!!!

I love Prego Healthy Start pasta
sauce - the taste
is terrific without adding a bunch of stuff to it and it
was really
good on this casserole.
I enjoy it in the morning or mid-afternoon when I need a
good boost of energy... although I think it would also
be tasty as a dessert (if made extra thick) with some chocolate
sauce or cacao nibs
on top!

'm with you
on capers making everything even
better so I
'm definitely trying the tahini
sauce.
My favorite
is fresh minced cilantro but we like to keep plenty of hot
sauce, tortilla chips, Greek yogurt and minced jalapeños
on hand as
well.
