On OS X,
your saved games folder is located inside of the Library / Application Support directory inside of your user folder, but of course these folders aren't easy to find the normal way.
We were setting up a new Minecraft server at HTG headquarters to play the awesome Captive Minecraft survival mode game (which uses vanilla Minecraft, no mods required), when we realized we didn't have an article about how to find
your saved games folder.
To install a game save, you will have to replace the saved files in
your saved games folder with the new files you download.
For that, delete
the Save Game folder of the game and then do a fresh install.
You can find it in
your save game folder.
With symbolic links, it's possible to place
your save game folders in a cloud storage folder — such as on Dropbox, Google Drive, or SkyDrive — and create a symbolic link to that new folder at the original location.

A workaround for this is to quit the
game, go to the
SAVE folder and delete the file with the.
While in Roaming, look for the Stardew Valley
folder which is where the
game saves its progress.
Dozens of types of data storage medium exist, and most of the data does not come in neatly labeled files,
folders and boxes, but as unstructured data mixed in with email invites to hockey
games, personal documents, relevant documents
saved into the wrong
folder, proprietary databases which contain data that is largely irrelevant (and sensitive to boot!)
There are also options for selecting the
folders where Windows 10 will
save game clips and screenshots, and choosing different video quality and resolution settings.
But, if you want to back up a specific program's settings or a computer
game's
save files, you may be able to do it by digging into the AppData
folder, finding the program's directory, and copying it to another location.
If you make a copy of a character's
save folder using a slightly different name — but leaving it in the same directory — then in
game, you'll see multiple
saves (just with differing amount of time played).
There are tons of Minecraft worlds on the Internet that you can download, unzip, and then play on your local computer without having to join a server or set one up, but to do that, you'll need to know how to get to your
saved games, and Minecraft doesn't put those worlds into a place you'd expect, like your Documents
folder.
Your
saved games are stored inside of the AppData
folder, which isn't that easily to find or get to because the whole AppData
folder is hidden.
If you exit this screen and then click back in, you'll immediately see the new
saved game that you unzipped or otherwise copied into this
folder.
It is, as far as I can tell, impossible to reach the SteamApps
folder without root access, and
saved games are also (again, as far as I can tell) hidden behind that wall.
The first of these puts all of your
games into a special
folder and allows you to launch
games quickly, turn off notifications and turn on power
saving mode while gaming.
Games that don't perform cloud syncing still put their
save games in a specific
folder.
Folders like your
saved games, downloads, contacts, desktop, and pictures, among others.
If you're not familiar with these features,
Game Launcher is a service that automatically groups all your installed
games into one
folder, provides a Do Not Disturb gaming mode and features several power
saving settings.
