Comic shops
are not sale or return — it
's just straight sale — so they
're actually MUCH more up for this sort of thing than,
say, an
indie bookstore, which will just bitch
about not
being able to return unsold books.
I think it
's fair to
say that when people talk
about the
indie movement in the book world, we
're really talking
about a broad set of configurations from small presses to collectives of writers to individual authors, whether they create their own imprint or just operate as a self - published author in the Amazon or Smashwords universes.
And it feels weird to me for people to proclaim their independent spirit and yet take what any one figurehead

saying all one title but a mixture of books to fill one carton... if that
were the case the order would take longer to ship because of minimum orders.

indie author should
be using professional editing services and spend some time learning how to market online if they
're serious
about making money.

are quality work and properly edited.
If you
say indie books
are crap because they don't sell, I ask you what means
about all the professionally published books that sell horribly.
