I've interviewed probably thousands of candidates in my career, and here are some of the most common things that my colleagues and I find
ourselves saying about candidates after interviews.
Understanding the lens through which the reference interprets your questions is as important as what they actually
say about the candidate.

«Something I would
say about every candidate is that everyone feels that the system is against them and there are a chosen few who will be selected to go on to do great things and everybody else is being lied to and so on.

This is a different model: rather than scoping the info a candidate may have on his or her profile, you can find people who may have something to
say about a candidate.
But if you feel like you have more negatives than positives to
say about the candidate, or if you have information about him / her that you see as a hiring deal - breaker, don't agree to do this.

Now what does
that say about a candidate?
Because HR managers are often interested in what the references have to
say about the candidate you shouldn't be careless in choosing right references for specific job application.
It is not important to limit this information to one paragraph — if you have more to
say about the candidate, by all means, do!
Summaries sound better, not only because they are concrete in nature but because they have a lot to
say about the candidate.
