People including you move from job to job as long as the salary and benefits are good and we all know top clubs will pay a high price for good talent hence, there are few top managers
out there who wouldn't think about moving to arsenal for 8,000,000.00 plus bonus etc. you all keep
saying half
of the
squad is
out with injury hmmm who are those Ozil (hasn't been playing well since he arrived) Ramsey (was poor up to the point he got injured Wilshere (please!!!! No comment there) Diaby (only God knows where he is) Arteta (wouldn't Make a difference to the outcome).
Why does everyone
say we can afford this and that to me I'm not so sure we have cash from with in or
out there's a lot not adding up like when we just bought Cech does not make sense we buy lacasette but sead kolasnic was free I'm not sure we have da cash and if we do can we spend or do we have sell like debuchy got 70 grand a wk most
of us wouldn't make that in a year just think about that, he didn't play at all and that's why we haven't da money and sanogoal like cum on cut da
squad pay the real players, manage da club get world class players and great
squad players

out and
say that Barcelona want the player, because that would risk unsettling Bellerin and potentially other members
of the
squad.
Cesc could have gone back to Arsenal after leaving Barca but Wenger did not buy him back when he had him in a silver platter... there is a greater need for Cesc now with Santi, Jack and Rosicky
out / poor form / retired than back then but Wenger should never have allowed this transfer to happen for simply NOT letting Chelsea get stronger, we had enough room in the
squad roster back then anyway and he could have sent Jack on loan that season and common sense also
said Rosicky was almost at the end
of his career so Cesc would have played a lot anyway.
If he came
out and was honest to the fans instead
of saying we have a
squad capable
of challenging the elite I would respect him but all I see is an arrogant, stubborn old man who earns # 8million a year and has amassed personal wealth
of appx.
if it, s the case wenger shpould do like other manager when they want to get rid
of a player, freeze him
out the
squad and make him train with the kids or on his own but that, s not wenger, s style i guess!do players have a
say on which club they, ll end up??

of the club, we have the

squads above us inferior on paper but their managers manage to get more
out of their
squads then Wenger from his.

Shad Forsythe, our new physio, even told some German newspapers that (and I quote) «It would take me at least one uninterrupted full year with the
squad to get it right and see possible improvements»... To that he added «Preparation methods used at Arsenal are prehistorical and
out dated for the physical and demand
of the current game»... Journalists even asked him if he would not get in trouble by
saying that?
3 League titles / 6 Fa cups and constant champions league last 16odd years
out of 19 also but no matter what anyone
says his time as our coach has come to an end even if we win the league which in fairness we have a great shot so going
out of Europe could help us win the league for Wenger to leave on a high like fergie did... This has to be his last season in charge along with Stan the Conman... Money needs put into this
squad to get it to the next level and a different direction because in all honesty when we beat Bayern they just did nt take their chances like they did last night and they already had a great
squad and added to it in the summer with Costa etc... we had a real chance this year if we had brought in more than Cech and that is Wengers fault!
but I can categorically
say that for the last 12 years he has had a better

Arsene Wenger
said that he needs an overhaul
of his «heavy» Arsenal
squad, but it is a well - known fact that «poker - face» Wenger will always hold
out for the best price he can get for departing stars, as well as looking to bring in players at bargain prices.
am tired
of wenger.the man has got good skills, but somehow he fails to address basic issues in the team like buying a striker and a cdm in the last summer.at one time, arsenal had good
squad but had a keeper who at times committed mistakes i.e almunia.then after ozil came and arsenal were first in december, all wenger had to do was buy a pacy striker with eye for goal.but wenger did nt so obviously and instead bought an injured kallstrom.agreed ppl fans will keep
saying managers shud hav played this guy or that one and so.but in case
of wenger, its abt ignoring team issues t (to prove a point he can win without listening to critics and the fans which he never will), and then playing players
out of form,
out of position, and buying players that do nt fit ur style like giroud!!
this man is so self - absorbed... does he really think that we should feel so honored that he chose to stay with little old us... does he not understand that many
of us would have literally driven him to the ends
of the earth if he promised never to return... has anyone noticed that the only teams he
says are interested in him are some
of the biggest clubs in the world whose managers spend freely, follow through on their promises or are terminated, listen to their fan - bases, have a lot
of strong personalities within their
squads, rarely play their top players
out of position, win against their top rivals or suffer the wrath, don't blame the ref after every loss and embrace their former stars... even if his stories had any truth to them, he would last but a cup
of coffee
This is an incredibly difficult question to answer for a variety
of reasons, most importantly because over the years our once vaunted «beautiful» style
of play has become a shadow
of it's former self, only to be replaced by a less than stellar «plug and play» mentality where players play
out of position and adjustments / substitutions are rarely forthcoming before the 75th minute... if you look at our current players, very few would make sense in the traditional Wengerian system... at present, we don't have the personnel to move the ball quickly from deep - lying position, efficient one touch midfielders that can make the necessary through balls or the disciplined and pacey forwards to stretch defences into wide positions, without the aid
of the backs coming up into the final 3rd, so that we can attack the defensive lanes in the same clinical fashion we did years ago... on this current
squad, we have only 1 central defender on staf, Mustafi, who seems to have any prowess in the offensive zone or who can even pass two zones through so that we can advance play quickly
out of our own end (I have seen some inklings that suggest Holding might have some offensive qualities but too early to tell)... unfortunately Mustafi has a tendency to get himself in trouble when he gets overly aggressive on the ball... from our backs
out wide, we've seen pace from the likes
of Bellerin and Gibbs and the spirited albeit offensively stunted play
of Monreal, but none
of these players possess the skill - set required in the offensive zone for the new Wenger scheme which requires deft touches, timely runs to the baseline and consistent crossing, especially when Giroud was playing and his ratio
of scored goals per clear chances was relatively low (better last year though)... obviously I like Bellerin's future prospects, as you can't teach pace, but I do worry that he regressed last season, which was obvious to Wenger because there was no way he would have used Ox as the right side wing - back so often knowing that Barcelona could come calling in the off - season, if he thought otherwise... as for our midfielders, not a single one, minus the more confident Xhaka I watched played for the Swiss national team a couple years ago, who truly makes sense under the traditional Wenger model... Ramsey holds onto the ball too long, gives the ball away cheaply far too often and abandons his defensive responsibilities on a regular basis (doesn't score enough recently to justify): that being
said, I've always thought he does possess a little something special, unfortunately he thinks so too... Xhaka is a little too slow to ever boss the midfield and he tends to telegraph his one true strength, his long ball play: although I must admit he did get a bit better during some points in the latter part
of last season... it always made me wonder why whenever he played with Coq Wenger always seemed to play Francis in a more advanced role on the pitch... as for Coq, he is way too reckless at the wrong times and has exhibited little offensive prowess yet finds himself in and around the box far too often... let's face it Wenger was ready to throw him in the trash heap when injuries forced him to use Francis and then he had the nerve to act like this was all part
of a bigger Wenger constructed plan... he like Ramsey, Xhaka and Elneny don't offer the skills necessary to satisfy the quick transitory nature
of our old offensive scheme or the stout defensive mindset needed to protect the defensive zone so that our offensive players can remain aggressive in the final third... on the front end, we have Ozil, a player
of immense skill but stunted by his physical demeanor that tends to offend, the fact that he's been played
out of position far too many times since arriving and that the players in front
of him, minus Sanchez, make little to no sense considering what he has to offer (especially Giroud); just think about the quick counter-attack offence in Real or the space and protection he receives in the German National team's midfield, where teams couldn't afford to focus too heavily on one individual... this player was a passing «specialist» long before he arrived in North London, so only an arrogant or ignorant individual would try to reinvent the wheel and / or not surround such a talent with the necessary components... in regards to Ox, Walcott and Welbeck, although they all possess serious talents I see them in large part as headless chickens who are on the injury table too much, lack the necessary first - touch and / or lack the finishing flair to warrant their inclusion in a regular starting eleven; I would
say that,
of the 3, Ox showed the most upside once we went to a back 3, but even he became a bit too consumed by his pending contract talks before the season ended and that concerned me a bit... if I had to choose one
of those 3 players to stay on it would be Ox due to his potential as a plausible alternative to Bellerin in that wing - back position should we continue to use that formation... in Sanchez, we get one
of the most committed skill players we've seen on this
squad for some years but that could all change soon, if it hasn't already
of course... strangely enough, even he doesn't make sense given the constructs
of the original Wenger offensive model because he holds onto the ball too long and he will give the ball up a little too often in the offensive zone... a fact that is largely forgotten due to his infectious energy and the fact that the numbers he has achieved seem to justify the means... finally, and in many ways most crucially, Giroud, there is nothing about this team or the offensive system that Wenger has traditionally employed that would even suggest such a player would make sense as a starter... too slow, too inefficient and way too easily dispossessed... once again, I think he has some special skills and, at times, has showed some world - class qualities but he's lack
of mobility is an albatross around the necks
of our offence... so when you ask who would be our best starting 11, I don't have a clue because
of the 5 or 6 players that truly deserve a place in this side, 1 just arrived, 3 aren't under contract beyond 2018 and the other was just sold to Juve... man, this is theraputic because following this team is like an addiction to heroin without the benefits
That is what I thought, anyway, but the Arsenal players
out on the Wembley pitch proved me wrong I am more than happy to
say, so does that mean that we have a fantastic
squad full
of quality and depth in every position?
Sorry to get u guys upset but AW ain't signing any player CECH waz
out biggest signing he can win us the cl & epl trophies, after Saturday game its clearly we need firing power up front im not mad @ giroud & u guys shouldn't cuz the manager picks the
squad not giroud & if aw don't have a st by end
of transfer i think thats it for him we need someting new @ the clud & thats a manager sorry to
say that aw time is up & been up.
Predictably like mushrooms the AKBs are
out with a glimpse
of sunshine... It's not negative like I
said Ramsey is a decent
squad player to have on the bench or against lowly opposition when quality players need a rest..
im happy to see chambers step into that role if we buy a quality cb and bellerni is brought in as right back cover i think the lad has what it takes wana see wenger use more rotation from the
squad this season its been
said on here already its vital we use our whole
squad and if wenger is not confident in our back up players he should go
out and buy more instead
of saying hes happy with the players he has then not using them
Now he has got his chance as injuries have decimated the
squad yet again, and he has chances
of getting a prolonged run in the team, he has spoken
out,
saying that he is prepared to fight for his place and wait for Wenger to decide when he is ready to play.
August can be a cruel month... What now... It is absolutely clear we don't have a team or
squad to compete with best teams in Europe... That can't be repaired in last 6 days
of a transfer window... IMO it can't be done under current leadership for reasons have been
saying for 3 years... But what can be done realistically... To begin with ox and gab have to start... This is so blatant and so doable I think it's fair to
say that a manager who doesn't do this should not be in the job come Xmas... Who should go... Wenger has done a half way decent job here in clearing
out deadwood And Campbell may still go... Flamini still around is shocking management....
Didn't Wenger come
out a few days ago
saying we don't need a lot
of new players and that he is happy with the
squad?
The report goes on to
say that Flamini is looking for a payoff for the last year
of his contract before he leaves, to compensate for the loss
of wages by not seeing
out the end
of his deal, and further (if this is true) it seems that Wenger is trying to make a space in the
squad for th arrival
of a new defensive midfielder as competition for Coquelin.
I've
said to him that I'm not ruling him
out but, in terms
of just having him as a
squad player, I think it's a better opportunity for me to look at one or two others.
We have a big
squad we have a complete team unless some move
out i belive we wount buy having
said that i hope our team remains united and no one leavs I think the answer is in this question could we lone
out serge Ganabry and or chupa Akpom for more fire power and or the question on the condition
of Abo Diaby
whatever you think
of ramsey... and in my books he is a decent b2b but certainly not top class... he is not going to control the area between edge
of box and centre line which is what all great DMs do... nor has coquelin proved that to me... he is a guttusso type player and has improved massively in that role... not convinced it is what will take us to challenging for titles however which is why a cavalho type DM is a needed addition especially as arteta and flamini are obviously not up to the task... but have always
said that wengers job is to get best
out of ozil santi and wilshere who are the real creative world class strengths
of this
squad... they need protection behind them and options in front... at moment the real worry is that wenger will continue to use mertesakher at CB and fail to bring in quality striker... so the song remains the same... without quality DM and attacking option we will be trying to retain 3rd place and reach qf
of cl
Giroud should start on the bench with Aaron Ramsey also returning to the
squad, but Wenger has already
said that he will be cautious with both
of them, but they may come on for the last 20 minutes to get a gentle run
out.
I'm not
saying the players won't play for him, I'm
saying the players are uninspired by him, as well as being played
out of position, add this to a very weak
squad and you have a recipe for disaster.
Here he also
says «but I want to know after the 10th league defeat this season and after losing the most games
out of any premier league
squad in all competitions (including West Brom),»
Messi
said the same thing about Theo Walcot when he was left
out of the 2010 World Cup
squad.
Walcott
said during the Gunners» recent tour
of the United States that he wants to go back to playing on the right wing this season after struggling to get playing time up front and being left
out of England's
squad for the European Championship.
What's wrong with you guys
saying glad
out of it, try telling that to the players it's playing in the champs lg that brings in the best, so if we do Qualify and it's next year for the knock
out stage and by then we may have strengthened the
squad, and players back from injuries.
This is not a problem that started today but rather has been around for the last decade. To start with, everyone knew we would fall short at the secound half
of the season for lack
of enough depth in quality and the outcome now isn't surprising to most pple especially our rivals... wenger himself
said we had enough quality to challenge in all front and even went further to
say there were no players
out there who cld improve us.i have
said many times that half
of this
squad is average and can not achieve much.with klopp, mou, conte / simeone and pep around nxt season then lets see how this blemish «Angel»
of our is gonna fair
out.Nxt season will even get worse.for arsenal the phrase is «IT»S DEJA VU ALL OVER AGAIN»!!!
when we was playing stoke city everyone was
saying WOW look at the bench Arsenal have a good
squad this season YES WE HAVE but AW is guilty
of playing sill buger with playing
out of position players
Some media sources are
saying that the Arsenal and England star Jack Wilshere is
out of the Gunners
squad that will take on Monaco in the first
of two legs that we are all hoping will see the club progress to the quarter - finals
of the Champions League after four years
of falling at the first knockout hurdle.
Last month, he was dropped from the England
squad and
said he believed the reason behind Fabio Capello's decision was that he had been played
out of position for Tottenham.
As it stands, this
squad is fairly well positioned to compete for the Wenger Cup and make a deep run in the Europa, if and only if we play first stringers in Europe and use the bench for the League and FA Cups... that being
said, and based on the fragility
of the manager and the team in recent campaigns, it's more likely that Wenger will focus on a top 4 finish and the FA Cup... while the reasons for such an approach may appear logical, it would confirm a rather disturbing trend and appear counter intuitive for any team which claims to have higher aspirations... I feel that Wenger simply can't afford to put all his eggs in the Europa basket because if he fails the potential backlash could cripple any top 4 chances due to the aforementioned fragile psyche that tends to rear it's ugly head like our own personal groundhog day each and every February... furthermore, can you even imagine Wenger bringing in the necessary recruits to adequately supply top quality lineups in a Thursday / Sunday dominated schedule; based on everything I've seen in recent years, I can't see that happening... in fact, mark my words, it's more likely that we see Lacazette playing
out wide in Alexis's position with Giroud at striker, than we see Wenger make the necessary moves to right this ship... god, I hope I'm wrong but is it really that far - fetched considering what we've witnessed for past several years
Giroud may not be the type
of forward i am accustomed to at Arsenal, but his attitude to the team must be commended and praised, his value to the present arsenal
squad at most times understated and only gets praise when he bails us
out of bad situations, but he has been a hard worker and a gentleman for this team and i would like to
say THANK YOU SIR FOR STAYING WITH US.
Time for some brutal honesty... this team, as it stands, is in no better position to compete next season than they were 12 months ago, minus the fact that some fans have been easily snowed by the acquisition
of Lacazette, the free transfer LB and the release
of Sanogo... if you look at the facts carefully you will see a team that still has far more questions than answers... to better show what I mean by this statement I will briefly discuss the current state
of affairs on a position - by - position basis... in goal we have 4 potential candidates, but in reality we have only 1 option with any real future and somehow he's the only one we have actively tried to get rid
of for years because he and his father were a little too involved on social media and he got caught smoking (funny how people still defend Wiltshire under the same and far worse circumstances)... you would think we would want to keep any goaltender that Juventus had interest in, as they seem to have a pretty good history when it comes to that position... as far as the defenders on our current roster there are only a few individuals whom have the skill and / or youth worthy
of our time and / or investment, as such we should get rid
of anyone who doesn't meet those simple requirements, which means we should get rid
of DeBouchy, Gibbs, Gabriel, Mertz and loan
out Chambers to see if last seasons foray with Middlesborough was an anomaly or a prediction
of things to come... some fans have lamented wildly about the return
of Mertz to the starting lineup due to his FA Cup performance but these sort
of pie in the sky meanderings are indicative
of what's wrong with this club and it's wishy - washy fan - base... in addition to these moves the club should aggressively pursue the acquisition
of dominant and mobile CB to stabilize an all too fragile defensive group that has self - destructed on numerous occasions over the past 5 seasons... moving forward and building on our need to re-establish our once dominant presence throughout the middle
of the park we need to target a CDM then do whatever it takes to get that player into the fold without any
of the usual nickel and diming we have become famous for (this kind
of ruthless haggling has cost us numerous special players and certainly can't help make the player in question feel good about the way their future potential employer feels about them)... in order for us to become dominant again we need to be strong up the middle again from Goalkeeper to CB to DM to ACM to striker, like we did in our most glorious years before and during Wenger's reign... with this in mind, if we want Ozil to be that dominant attacking midfielder we can't keep leaving him exposed to constant ridicule about his lack
of defensive prowess and provide him with the proper players in the final third... he was never a good defensive player in Real or with the German National
squad and they certainly didn't suffer as a result
of his presence on the pitch... as for the rest
of the midfield the blame falls squarely in the hands
of Wenger and Gazidis, the fact that Ramsey, Ox, Sanchez and even Ozil were allowed to regularly start when none
of the aforementioned had more than a year left under contract is criminal for a club
of this size and financial might... the fact that we could find money for Walcott and Xhaka, who weren't even guaranteed starters, means that our whole business model needs a complete overhaul... for me it's time to get rid
of some serious deadweight, even if it means selling them below what you believe their market value is just to simply right this ship and change the stagnant culture that currently exists... this means
saying goodbye to Wiltshire, Elneny, Carzola, Walcott and Ramsey... everyone, minus Elneny, have spent just as much time on the training table as on the field
of play, which would be manageable if they weren't so inconsistent from a performance standpoint (excluding Carzola, who is like the recent version
of Rosicky — too bad, both will be deeply missed)... in their places we need to bring in some proven performers with no history
of injuries... up front, although I do like the possibilities that a player like Lacazette presents, the fact that we had to wait so many years to acquire some true quality at the striker position falls once again squarely at the feet
of Wenger... this issue highlights the ultimate scam being perpetrated by this club since the arrival
of Kroenke: pretend your a small market club when it comes to making purchases but milk your fans like a big market club when it comes to ticket prices and merchandising... I believe the reason why Wenger hasn't pursued someone
of Henry's quality, minus a fairly inexpensive RVP, was that he knew that they would demand players
of a similar ilk to be brought on board and that wasn't possible when the business model was that
of a «selling» club... does it really make sense that we could only make a cheeky bid for Suarez, or that we couldn't get Higuain over the line when he was being offered up for half the price he eventually went to Juve for, or that we've only paid any interest to strikers who were clearly not going to press their current teams to let them go to Arsenal like Benzema or Cavani... just part
of the facade that finally came crashing down when Sanchez finally called their bluff... the fact remains that no one wants to win more than Sanchez, including Wenger, and although I don't agree with everything that he has done off the field, I would much rather have Alexis front and center than a manager who has clearly bought into the Kroenke model in large part due to the fact that his enormous ego suggests that only he could accomplish great things without breaking the bank... unfortunately that isn't possible anymore as the game has changed quite dramatically in the last 15 years, which has left a largely complacent and complicit Wenger on the outside looking in... so don't blame those players who demanded more and were left wanting... don't blame those fans who have tried desperately to raise awareness for several years when cracks began to appear... place the blame at the feet
of those who were well aware all along
of the potential pitfalls
of just such a plan but continued to follow it even when it was no longer a financial necessity, like it ever really was...
And let's face it even if we do miraculously get
out of this group, we are not going to have a shot at CL and that is a shame especially when Wenger
says that no player in the transfer market was available that could improve our
squad which means we should have a real shot at winning the CL and league, both
of which are not going to happen, its best that we part ways with Wenger and this mediocrity at the end
of the season
