I love the idea of wearing scarves as jewelry, I love throwing on
a scarf over an outfit, but I'll definitely have to try using it as a wrist wrap!

I'm teaming up with my friends
over at Lulus to share one of my favorite
outfits for the trip — this pretty gingham printed dress (with a fun wrap detail), paired with these edgy studded kitten heels, and this cozy tassel

Wear it with some black mom jeans, throw a classic grey
scarf over it (you can steal it from your boyfriend like I did) and you've got the most perfect winter
outfit.

The skinny
scarf will not keep you warm in cold weather but it will definitely add contrast to your warm
outfit if worn
over a different color or if wearing a designed version like this blue spotted
scarf or this gold beaded skinny
scarf.
So this
outfit started with my regular black
over the knee boots underneath the skirt, with a long camel coat
over, and my DIY skinny
scarf draped
over the coat, all while holding an umbrella.
The prospect of Winter (and thus complicated
outfits by layering heavy knits and
scarves and hats) almost being
over, stimulates me to bring a certain simplicity to my
outfits.
However, this
outfit had actually been centered around my beautiful new, silk
scarf from my friends
over at Asian Eye!
This
outfit is so easy because it combines basic closet staples; a black sweater dress, camel brown
over the knee boots and a neutral
scarf.

Over any other accessory, except maybe earrings,
scarves have become a staple in my closet and in my
outfits.
Personally, I prefer the Parisian - chic feel of a silk
scarf or even bandana tied around the neck to the more goth - inspired reminder of my tragic teen years, but plenty of street stylers have been seeing alternating between both when their
outfit calls for something more but a statement necklace feels too expected or
over the top.
This past weekend I met up with my momma at the market in this easy weekend
outfit, it was so refreshing to just slip on some flats and toss a light
scarf over my shoulders.
