But it's hard to figure out exactly what's
scary about Evil Within.

It's
scary that someone with this conviction
about the nature of
evil is a serious presidential contender.
The last one that I feel like talking
about right now is this: I told that other poster that it was
scary that he or she could start justifying
evil acts because that's less than a half - step away from being able to do those acts.

Evil Within, Dead Space, even last year's (really excellent) Alien: Isolation are all the length you'd expect a modern, full - priced game to be, and they're all
about as
scary as a puppy after hour four.
So when games like The
Evil Within, Outlast, or any of the hundreds of other survival horror games boast
about being the
scariest or the best in the genre, it usually doesn't appeal to me.
Porting it to the bigger, more - powerful systems gives a larger audience the opportunity to experience this throwback to
scary Resident
Evil games, and hopefully will make people forget
about the action - packed popcorn movie that was Resident
Evil 6.
For me, Resident
Evil 7 was worth it alone (the demos have confirmed that thought, and the other games I've had the pleasure of playing continue to support my purchase); but those with limited finances or on the fence
about purchasing an untested unit, the situation is
scary.
