We think this is particularly important for therapists whether they are conducting individual, couples, or group ST.. The impact of clustered
schemas and concurrent
mode reactions with BPD and NPD (issues of anger, bullying, and rigidly detached
modes) that emerge in individual
work;

mode clashes with couples; a number of clients getting activated at the same time in a group, can all amplify therapists» reactions, triggering affect related to family of origin experiences and
modes.

Because

MODE not symptom it can be used effectively with the majority of complex psychological problems including personality disorders, complex trauma and chronic mood or interpersonal problems which have not responded to other treatments.
The focus on the therapeutic relationship and validation of dysfunctional
schema modes could help to establish a
working alliance through which early experiences can be rescripted and behavioral change can be achieved, even in adolescent patients who are reluctant to engage in therapy.
The approach can be a dynamic and stimulating way to assist in
schema mode dialogues, and its use can allow for clear and productive methods in
working with
schema modes.
