science talent demand.

Wayne State University President M. Roy Wilson said the benchmark reports indicate that the three universities in the research corridor stand out as producers of high -
demand talent — including engineers and experts in computer
science.

science and technology employment, and that the gap between the
demand for [computer
science]
talent and the supply of that
talent is and will remain large.
Basically,
science and technology efforts involve responses to new
talents and
demands as well as changes in the needs of society.
But such
demands are also the norm at a particular brand of high school around the country: math and
science academies, which offer students with superior
talent in those subjects a
demanding, highly concentrated academic environment.
As Industrial Internet engineers are required to have expertise in both machinery and data
science, we expect to see considerable
talent mismatch due to the dramatic shortfall between the number of highly skilled professionals and the high
demand for positions to be filled.
Despite the soaring
demand, due to the diverse skills sets candidates are required to have, such as a strong background in statistics, computer
science and business skills, the
talent pool is desperately small - a trend predicted to continue in 2017.
