As of January 2015, Google's
search engine algorithm gives a slight advantage to exact - match domains.
Not exact matches
Given Google's standing as the Internet's most formidable
search engine, it's remarkable to think that the company would need help enhancing its own Google rankings — navigating the very
algorithms that it establishes.
Some of the criteria they are now measuring are site speed, mobile optimization, site structure, content, and dozens of other signals that should
give the
algorithm an idea of whether or not
search engine users are getting what they expect from a website.
With each
algorithm update it announces, the
search engine giant shows how much of a preference it
gives responsive design.
The tech duo eventually changed the name of their
search engine from Backrub to «Google» (thank god) and revolutionized the
search -
engine industry by using a new
algorithm that ranked a webpage based on its back links (i.e. links on other websites that refer back to a
given webpage).
Any
given link can radiate signals that a
search engine algorithm might find helpful, but these signals originate from the person who placed the link wherever the
engine found it, along with that person's intent when he or she placed it.

Given the fact that
search engines frequently change their
