Here are a few of my tips and tricks, as a
seasoned veteran of veganism who's lived
at every point on the scale from raw vegan to junk
food vegan, to get you started on a healthy, balanced vegan lifestyle.
At the start of football
season this past fall, I saw a bunch of buffalo cauliflower recipes pop up on my favorite

So since we are
at this in between stage of the year both in the weather and in
food, because as you know soon it will be all apples, then pumpkins, then... you get what I'm saying, I thought I would make something that has no
season, a Butterscotch Walnut Cream Cheese Tart.
It's similar to a fritter - traditionally served on top of meals as a crunchy addition, but has also become appreciated on its own as a delicious snack enjoyed
at Indian festivals, as a starter before meals, and as a comfort
food during monsoon
season served with a cup of steaming tea and a smile.
I dare say we've never needed comfort
food more than we have in the past four weeks, and
at a time that's filled with plenty of challenging days, the silver lining is that this is the right
season for such meals.
Jalil and Oz have also partnered with fine dining chef Gal Ben Moshe to create a pop up restaurant that makes appearances a couple of times a month
at some of Berlin's major
food and culture events, like Conductor Daniel Barenboim's
season opening gala.
Apart from keeping on top of our water intake, we can also work with the
seasons and capitalise on some of the hydrating and cooling
foods that are growing
at this time of year, and base our meal planning around these
foods.
And in the off
season, I do a little scavenging
at my local Whole
Food's dumpster....
Comfort
food has no
season,
at least that's the way I see it.
Their
food of choice
at the moment is all of the stone fruits that are in
season; my daughter loves the peaches and nectarines, and my son prefers the plums.
My favourite
season is coming to an end and I'm feeling a bit sad about it...
at least I have fall comfort
foods to look forward to!
This is prime - time sport - watching
season at our house, which means we need prime - time party

season here in Chelem Puerto, Mexico is officially over and what a crazy past few months it's been.
Besides the simultaneous happiness and heartache that comes with finally getting to see your people after a few years away, here are some other things I'm really looking forward to: staring
at the blossoming chestnut trees outside of my mom's kitchen window, visiting the
food market across the street from there every day, fresh sorrel soup, mom's melt - in - your - mouth zucchini fritters, and a good morel mushroom
season, if I'm lucky.

foods available and I feel like I'd have to come up with a highly strategic meal plan to enjoy each one
at least once before the
season passes.
